Message 430840 - Posted: 4 Oct 2006, 18:39:39 UTC - in response to Message 430827.

Simon, is it better to "save" this file or "open" it. Windows always asks me this question and I never know which to choose. Thanks.

Hi,

whichever you prefer, really. Choosing "save" will save the file to your hard disk and require you to decompress it later with a suitable program. Choosing open will not store it on your HD (except in a temporary location) and open it up with the associated program, saving you a step.

Really, it's a matter of how you prefer to do things :o)

HTH,
Simon.

Yes, I see the same over *.atlas.cogentco.com to *.demarc.cogentco.com to {edge-1|core2}.atlcore.oneringnetworks.net - they somehow can't agree on the path.

Yeah,

it seems like a routing loop. Should sort itself out soon, I hope.
Site will be up as soon as oneringnetworks notice something's wrong :)

Simon.

Simon, I opened and ran the file but there's no way to copy it. All I have are PD950s and they're common anyway. Nevertheless if you want me to put what it prints out I will need more instructions as to how to copy it. I also ran the memory portion and I don't know how common Corsair Value Select 667 is.

Hi Clyde,

the first post in this thread has instructions how to copy the contents of a command window.

How to copy the screen depends on your version of windows.

  • Win XP- Look for the "C:\\" tiny icon in the upper left of the window.
  • click on this tiny icon to bring up a menu
  • choose the edit -> mark option (continue)
  • Win 2000 - Win SE
  • With the left mouse button - drag select the entire text area of the window
  • click the right mouse button or press a key
  • now this text is in your clipboard
  • next launch [start menu] -> programs -> Accessories -> Notepad (or use Windows Key + R and just type "notepad" and hit enter)
  • paste the text into the notepad window.
  • Save the file, giving it a descriptive name, such as "cpuid <my processor model type - including core type>.txt"
  • attach it to a post in this thread
  • if you don't want to register at lunatics.at to post, you can paste the contents of the file into a post here.

HTH,
Simon.

Hi everyone,

there's a new version to test.

I created a new thread since this one's getting long.

Please continue there :o)
