No idea, but there are quite a few people that are running BOINC under various Vista release versions.

Install and run it just as normal. No problems here at all.

What problems have you encountered?

Ok thank you guys! You made me install it from the begining and everything went well. I had just copied my boinc folder from my Windows XP directory and this had resulted in multiple errors . Now everything is ok! :) Seti welcome me back;) Keep crunching guys :P

Boinc, like almost all Windows programs, loads stuff all over the harddrive when it installs. Just copying the program files will not get all the files it needs. One thing I understand Apple does MUCH better.

Has anyone gotten BOINC to run on Vista while running as anything other than a service?

I can't get it to run on my Vista RC1. Did do a fresh install but no luck. Reinstalled Vista RC1 twice same problem. Ended up with lost data due to coruppted backup hard drive. Now I am stuck with my other old computer (WIN XP) This computer has been crunching wu for almost 3 years and no major problems. I would be very carefull with the Vista RC1. Another thing about Vista it doesn't support my Samsung laser printer. I am going back to WIN XP.

Do not judge the new windows from their rc1 release. Of cource windows XP is more stable at the moment! this is why all vista drivers are in beta form.. Don't hurry. If you want to try them , just be kind ;) Download drivers for your graphics card and do a clean istall.. My Boinc is running for 4-5 days now without any problem. My average credits haven't changed so it has the same speed. Good luck Vista testers!
