I'am no credit junkie ether, but it appears that seti@home will not have enough data to keep everyone crunching all the time if the systems works 100% of the time, and the poster of this news is ASKING you to look at donating that unused cpu time to a different science project.

Why would you be "pissed off" by this?

It is an invitation to participate in another project if you wish.

... and it says that Serendip doesn't yet produce enough data for all of us.

That may change once the new receiver is up at Aricebo and Parkes.
