Is the SETI server down today, perhaps? My BOINC program was purring along like a kitten on a dairy farm one minute and then I go to get back on my computer and I notice all of these messages in the message tab stating "temporary failed upload of ........ ( Work Unit )". If anyone knows anything about this issue, your help would be greatly appreciated! JC |

As of 4 minutes ago, when the status page was updated, I don't see anything thats changed to orange or red that would prevent uploads. Can you post the exact messages from your Message Tab for us, it would be helpful to see the whole thing. Thanks. Jeremy |

Could be a firewall problem - it sounds similar to this thread. |

Someone in the Q&A forums wound up having problems with Norton. Also, which version of the BOINC Client are you using? |

Have you recently installed any kind of firewall? Or updated one. Not so long ago one particular security suite (the name of which escapes me at present) did an update that stopped BOINC dead in it's tracks. Grant Darwin NT |

Have you recently installed any kind of firewall? It was McAfee. They rushed out the upgrade from 5.4.9 to 5.4.11 as a workround. [edit] source [/edit] |

go to your seti stats and see what your upload rate is it might be 0 Daniel, Thanks for the response. I think I figured it out. As I stated before, I just added this computer and, when I first installed BOINC, it worked fine. I then re-installed my firewall ( Zone Alarm Pro ). Thinking that might be the problem, I looked at the settings and noticed that the program settings for BOINC were not allowing it access to the Web. After correcting it, everything seems fine now. Although it did do the same thing on tuesday, but I believe the server really was down for a while that day..... |
