I doubt the stars would be close enough to the planet to affect the inhabitants at all.
Their sun would be giving off far more rays than the stars, regardless of how many are visible in their sky, imo.

But I'm no astronomer, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That's what I was thinkin'- if we send a signal (really we need to send millions or billions), aim it at a globular. There may be one caveat: all the ultraviolet and X-rays from nearby stars in a globular might kill anything trying to form into life unless the planet has a protective atmosphere. But still - hundreds of thousands of stars in one field of a radiotelescope like Arecibo....

So there are planets around that star, but that's no big deal. Planets probably orbit half the stars in our Galaxy.
Carl Sagan estimated that only 1 in every million stars or so, harbours an intelligent civilization.

A better idea would be to send this signal toward some dense cluster of stars like M13 (though they may have to settle for a nearer cluster), which is where we sent our interstellar radio message back in the 70s.

Scattershot method would mean a higher probability of reception.

The impact giant meteorites examines on Friday the film of “secrets of the science”.

The main topic ends on Saturday with the film “Cosmic Connexion” (20,40 o'clock), which Arte announces as “the first intergalactic remote very much program for extraterrestial ones and earth inhabitants”. The Clou: The transmission is radiated at the same time on earth and over a parabolic antenna of the French space center CNES into space.

Should receive the extraterrestial transmission, they will learn much over humans: The film presents the ideas about lives beyond the earth and speaks with artists, scientists and astronauts about the possibilities, as the earth and its inhabitants could explain themselves with a possible contact with extraterrestial ones. Arte had asked in addition in the Internet spectator for original messages, which the film publishes now and into far galaxies sends. (strip packing)
