Not necessarily my favorite but worth watching, and since it hasn't been mentioned...

The Quiet Earth

I don't think I've seen it (or can't remember). Hmmm, it sounds good. I just checked it out at IMDB. It's got a much higher rating than the average film there.

[edit] movie title removed. Mike already mentioned it [/edit]

I'm watching 'Battle Royale' at the moment.. one wonders if the seti mods and admin got their ideas on forum management from watching this movie. ;-)

No, I have never seen this movie. Sounds a little controversial though. lol

Worst science fiction movie that I have ever seen is "Just Imagine". Filmed in 1930 about what 1980 would look like as a Science Fiction Musical. I watched it in 1980...

Yeah, Rollerball, the original with James Caan. That's good.

Else A Clockwork Orange.

What they did a remake of Rollerball?

I had forgotten about A Clockwork Orange.

Another is King Kong. [edit] the original of course.

I have seen almost all the movies mentioned in this thread and I like almost all of them too. I just love Sci-Fi movies. I love Contact and own it on DVD. A great movie and I would love to do what Jodie Foster did in the movie. I think it would be awsome and the greatest thing to happen to anyone(making sure I don't spoil it for sue). No-one mentioned ET either.

Or COSMOS! Not exactly a movie, but then Carl Sagan rocked!

Another sci-fi movie I really liked was the not so famous, 'Demon Seed.' It was controversial, deliciously 'kinky' and magnificently politically incorrect, in my view.
