My two favourite Science Fiction movies of all time were...
Barbarella (like the outfits).
I Married A Monster From Outer Space (Fifties B movie).
Has anyone got any favourite movies (or series) of their own?

My favorite Sci Fi movie is Contact with Jodie Foster.

Maybe not the best one ever, but I love that movie. :-)

The usual ones like Bladerunner, Alien, Matrix, 2001.

Then there are some really good ones like Repoman, Dune, 12 Monkeys and Dark City. Love those.

I must admit, Jodie Foster is a great actress. I have not yet seen the movie, 'Contact,' though.

It centers around finding a signal such as the one SETI@home is looking for. Very good movie.

Sigourney Weaver is also brilliant. The first 'Alien' movie really scared me. I could hardly look at it. If they ever decide to have a female 'Dr Who' the only woman actress I would be likely to vote for is Sigourney.

I shall have to look for it. Maybe I'll find it for Christmas. I'd better not ask you whether they found a signal had I?

Yes, she has played some very strong roles... that's why I thought she would make a really good Dr Who.

Did you see 2010, The Year We Make Contact? That is the same kind of movie, but probably with a different story-line. I quite enjoyed it, although you can never beat Stanley Kubrick's first movie, 2001, A Space Oddysey.

Check out Eraserhead. I don't know if it's Sci Fi, but it's definitely out there. I would classify it as horror.
