Here is what I wrote, and submitted!

=====================================

To Whom it may concern:

Is History repeating itself? NOT since the Network Cancellation of Star Trek, (the original Series), in the late 1960's have I seen nor heard such AWEFUL news! This successful show, (10 YEARS RUNNING, AND 200+ EPISODES), IS A SUCCESSFUL and POPULAR TV SERIES!!! Why "cancel" this TV Series now??? I am shocked, dismayed, and HURT!

I, (as well as other viewers WORLD WIDE), am hooked on this CREATIVE, ORGINAL, UNIQUE, and POSITIVELY CHARGED TV SERIES! The MILLIONS of Sc-Fi Fans AROUND THE WORLD are DEDICATED to this show! We have been witnessing the disappearances of many a favorite show from the Sci-Fi genre; however, THIS MUST STOP NOW!

I FAITHFULLY watch this show, AND its spinoff - ATLANTIS! ONLY if I have to be away from the house do I set my DISH Network's DVR to record it; and even in those instances, THE MOMENT I AM BACK HOME, I TURN ON THE TV, ENGAGE THE DVR AND WATCH "Stargate, SG-1" and "ATLANTIS"!!!

INSTEAD of cancelling this FANTASTIC and WONDERFUL Series; I would HIGHLY Encourage creativity on MGM's part to INSTEAD OF CANCELLING THIS SHOW to APPROACH OVERSEAS NETWORKS TO SHARE PRODUCTION COSTS AND TO "Co-Produce" in the International Markets! I FURTHER ENCOURAGE "Sci-Fi" Channel to commit to new episodes, movies AND miniseries events. Furthermore, I, (as well as the MILLIONS OF WOLRDWIDE FANS), ARE DEEPLY committed AND devoted to following this show in whatever format its future takes, be that new episodes on SciFi or another network like Showtime, TV movies or miniseries, direct to DVD movies or miniseries, or groundbreaking pay-per-new episodes direct from iTunes!

STOP! THINK!! LISTEN TO WHAT ALL OF THE CONCERNED SCIENCE FICTION FANS WORLDWIDE HAVE TO SAY!!! "Sci-Fi" Channel's current slogan and theme is "IF" ===> "Sci-Fi"! What happens "IF" SG-1 gets pulled? I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT! JUST DON'T DO IT!

KEEP Stargate, SG-1, Atlantis, and the various many other Sci-Fi genre shows going! If NOT on the Sci-Fi Channel, then elsewhere! However; WHEREVER SG-1 GOES, WE THE FANS WILL FOLLOW!!!

=====================================

I hope others here and around the World follow suit!

That's one of the things I hate about the SciFi Channel. When they first started out, they were cool. They showed all the old SciFi from when I was a kid. Then they started getting bigger and with the first show they picked up, what was the name of it? It was a para-normal show hosted by Dan Akroyd. Anyway, SciFi picked it up and the episodes started going down hill fast and then they cancelled it. Everything they pick up, they end up cancelling after a short time. To be honest, I'm surprised that they aired Stargate SG1 for as long as they have. And the movies they "produce" are at best "B" rated. I wonder how long it will be before they ax Atlantis.... )-:<

To tell you the truth I was very surprised that in the same announcement of the cancelation they renewed Atlantis for another year! So, at least there's that.

Now Alex....!

Hey, not everything can stand the test of time as the 40 year run of Star Trek. But hey! Stargate SG1 is a-o-k! Sure they had some hokey episodes, but then so did Star Trek. Now Atlantis? Well, the jury is still out on that one. It's ok, so far. I watch every episode. The only thing that sucks is the SciFi Channel.... (-:<

What the "Sci-Fi", (notice the quotes), Channel REALLY NEEDS TO CUT, IS "ECW"!!! What the HELL does "wrestling" have to do with Science Fiction?????

thank you for your opinion, I hope you feel better. You must enjoy ECW on Sci Fi. Cause I guess that makes more sense.

That one is even worse. As TimeLord04 suggested, it's not even scifi.

I agree and at this point I don't even know why SciFi is still a network with shows like that on even with RAW being only "temporary". Makes me wonder what they will keep on when they're getting rid of legit shows that are sci fi even if not everyone likes them.

TL. How many times must I explain that the ECW show on Sci Fi was simply a test bed to see what kind of ratings the show would get?

I honestly don't think it will remain on Sci Fi once the original run of episodes is finished.

Keep in mind that no matter how much people ( me included ) think it doesn't belong there, ECW is bringing Sci Fi the highest ratings of any show EVER on the network.

One thing I have to give SG-1 is the fact that they have managed to run for as long as they have without getting dull and repetitive.

Yes, I know that you and I have had this discussion before, in the Myths Legends and Conspiracies Thread... I still think those flippin' ratings are rigged! I want to see the "REAL" Nielson Ratings!!! This is too outrageous to fathom!

NO MATTER "WHAT THE RATINGS"; "ECW" IS NOT "SCIENCE FICTION"... [CAPS LOCK FOR EMPHASIS, NOT SHOUTING...] I dare them to put ECW on "WE" or "O" and see what happens! LOL

It comes down to personal taste I geuss. Besides me just not being able to get into it, I think that the other major reason I never liked it was because it's a spin-off from the original Stargate movie that I didn't like that much. I mean the movie was ok to watch once, but I didn't think it was worth continuing it with a series.

Now Star Trek was kinda chessy, but I like the characters in it. And I'll even admit, I've even started watching reruns of TNG on Spike recently. I never really liked TNG that much before but I'm kinda into it more now.

I do agree with what you said about SciFi sucking. Yeah, much of their original stuff is very B quality.

If they did that, then THOSE networks would get THEIR highest ratings EVER.

Just as the Sci Fi fans are rabid in their viewership, so are the WWE fans. They will go wherever the shows are.

When RAW went from USA to Spike TV, Spike's ratings immediately saw a huge jump in ratings on Monday nights.

Television is a business. The people at the Sci Fi network know that higher ratings means higher advertising revenues.

Like I said, I agree that ANY wrestling show doesn't belong on Sci Fi. But I also know that the people running the network are businessmen.

lol. Who knows, maybe a spin-off series of Kindergarden Cop.

Okay, I can put up with a different mixture of shows as long as they're scifi/horror, but I just wish that they improved their original movies. Maybe with some better story and character depth, as well as not making the special effects look so computer generated.
