If the real pain of this incedent is how you viewed the lack of safety you felt as your parents did not protect you in this situation the best solution is to ask them why. If it is that you are just remembering it incorrectly they will have a chance to set you straight and for you to vent these feelings. If this is not possible talking about it is the next best thing.
