Wow. I didn't know anything about CA needing Insulin. Damn. I think I need to start paying attention to more threads.

Yes, this is why he has been complaining about the monitor he uses looking blurred... His eyesight is being adversely affected by the diabetes...

I didn't see that part either.

Well...I certainly hope he is feeling better.

I just wanted to stop in and let everyone that posts in this thread know how deeply I love you all....lol. You are all just so special to me!

<---------------feelin' nutty

* slaps Robert back to his senses *

Has someone been feeding you too much sugar again???? LMAO

Yeah, someone sneaked up on me and injected me with it...

LOL. I really MUST remember to hide the hypodermics.

Yeah, but are you sure that the hypodermic he took had glucose??? It could have been one of CA's new Insulin shots... LOL

Speaking of CA, I REALLY hope he is doing better... My father-in-law has diabetes and started shots a few months back...

With my weight where it currently is, I am getting concerned, too... Especially since prednisone and medrol, (as corticosterroids), "can cause diabetes"... LOL

So far I've been lucky... 8-D

Message 410759 - Posted: 30 Aug 2006, 4:24:21 UTC - in response to Message 410750.

Explanation by Tim O'Brien:
A cow has four stomachs and once it starts to eat something it cannot stop and it cannot regurgitate. So, as a cow seeks out salt while in the field, he will lick other cows backs and in the process get small hairs. Those hairs cannot go into the number two stomach because of a filter between the first and second stomach, so the hair, salt and whatever just sits there in the first stomach going round and round and forming a hairball. During slaughter, the inspectors see a lump in the stomach, cut it open to make sure it isn't a cancer, and low and behold, there's a bovine hairball! It is hard covered because of the calcification process. However, this one has a few chips in the bottom and you can see the small hairs. If you lick it, you can taste the salt. Also, since a cow cannot regurgitate, we have a bunch of cool cow stomach artifacts, including farm tools, but most impressively, a calcified, 175 foot long garden hose!

WHAT IS HE DOING LICKING IT EXACTLY ?? Whaaaa?

That is crazy! And we worry about undigested beef? =0

Before the chemistry machine existed in the lab, how do you think they used to check for sugar in the urine? yuk!

OMGROFLMAO What was that movie? The med students and the finger switch? LMAO

That calcified ball is insane though. I wonder how much it weighs.

Hey Scott....I don't know if this may have gotten buried before you saw it but we are going to be discussing the website in the team thread in the recruitment center.

It'll help keep the team thread on top and we won't have to wander off topic in here. :-)

This creature was found by Russian soldiers on Sakhalin shoreline. Sakhalin area is situated near to Japan, it’s the most eastern part of Russia, almost 5000 miles to East from Moscow (Russia is huge). People don’t know who is it. According to the bones and teeth - it is not a fish. According to its skeleton - it’s not a crocodile or alligator. It has a skin with hair or fur. It has been said that it was taken by Russian special services for in-depth studies, and we are lucky that people who encountered it first made those photos before it was brought away.

That's awesome. I hope it's real. The scale in photos can be deceiving though it may be like your car mirror "Objects are larger than they appear"

Read the comments section after the article. I agree with the ones that say it's just a rotting Beluga whale carcass.

Entirely possible. I only posted it for discussion purposes....lol

Wouldn't you think they would know a Beluga carcass when they saw one though?

Well...No. Dead Belugas don't normally wash up on shorelines and I'd say that most ordinary Russian soldiers aren't too familiar with Beluga anatomy especially when it's in such a decayed state.

Why would they? How many Beluga carcasses do you think they encounter?
