Not just upgrading DirectX, but updating DirectX even if you run version 9.0c already. 9.0c is being updated every month, or so. So try updating to the last known version of Dx 9.0c at DirectX update center.

I believe Ageless posted in another thread about upgrading DirectX to the latest version. Might try that too if your running the Screen Saver.

Can't help with the other problems, but as far as the Seti screen saver is concerned- try running Seti without it.
There are issues with the graphics causing problems on some systems with some video cards with some drivers.

Hello,
first I only got calculation errors or other mistakes, maybe some caused by the dedadline but surely not all.

Later, 2 projects worked at last: SET@home and rosetta@home but I noticed that only a few days after the first successful result.
Now there are at least 2 successful results: 1 for SETI@home and 1 for rosetta@home.
In the statistics there is only shown the successful result of rosetta@home and a further one that was not needed because of the deadline.
After I had the first successful results, the results that didn't work and that had not been results because of a calculation error, disappeared.
But QMC@home still didn't work yet.

I have read there have been many errors on linux systems but I have Windows XP - don't now if there is a problem.
could this project disturb all other projects and even the program?
As far as I know it is not one of those alpha versions.
And only if there's no project runned by BOINC then I sometimes see the BOINC logo as the screensaver but I have never seen the Diagram of a project as a screensaver.
Okay, now I have read that rosetta@home seems to have a diagram for the "show graphic" window but not one for the screensaver (I thought the program just would take the same diagram but it obviously is not the same) but I also have never seen a SETI@home screensaver in the BOINC screensaver program, though.
When a project is runned I always see a blank screen. I have already tried out to change the 2 values especially that one of the field "show blank screen..." but it didn't help.
But I can see the "show graphics" window (by the way sometimes it doesn't appear though the button of it is clickable and sometimes it takes several minutes to appear though there is an active process).
Also, the screensaver sometimes is activated when it shouldn't for example when I'm whatching TV with PowerCinema - only sometimes this happens, not always.

BOINC and/or the QMC@home must be more stable, must have better functions and so on for example you only notice that a result had been successful when you look for it but there is no hint on the screen automatically displayed.

And here is what the program shows - unfortenately there are not shown the calculation errors any more (by the way even when I look for it on the different "my results" pages. Only QMC@home still shows such an error cause there still hasn't been created a successfull result by my computer.

For your screen saver problems, how are your options set?

If you right click on the desktop, select 'Properties'. Now click on the 'Screensaver' tab. Next to the 'Wait xx minutes box' is a check box that says somthing like ' On resume ....'. If this is checked if forces you to enter a password to get back into your windows session. If you do not need this extra security you could remove the check mark. This should take right back into window with out logging back in.

As for the blank screen, the BOINC screensaver is set to go black after 5 minutes. Click on the settings button. If you never want it to go blank, remove the check mark from the 'Go to blank screen' box. Otherwise change the value in the 'Minutes until blank: " input box.

Well, yes... I still want to see your messages, don't get me wrong.
This error is an undefined one. It is the standard C++ exit code, for when the programmers have not coded a specific exit code to whatever happened. Maybe that the messages help us a little.

Although you say you have problems with your screen saver as well. So in that case, update your videocard drivers and get the latest DirectX 9c updates.

Hello, BOINC absolutely doesn't work how I expectet.
A few years in the past, I used the SETI@home screensaver and when the screensaver switched on there was the calculation diagram displayed but because of the missing function to change a profile (I used my fathers name) I didn't continue using SETI@home.

Now I have installed BOINC, first it seemed to be much better than the SETI@home screensaver, after all you can choose several projects in the same program and you have more functions but then I was rather disappointed:
1. Every time I run a project's calculation the result is a calculation error, even after restarting my computer several times so it is completely senseless to run the program because there come no correct results out of it.
2. When the screensaver switches on there only is a blank screen - a little bit boring because it would be nicer to see the diagram as the screensaver. I tried out to set a different time in the two fields but it didn't work.
3. when the screensaver starts and I move the mouse my PowerCinema program switches the radio off (because I have to log in to windows again) so that I have to switch the radio on again.

After all there are many things going wrong - the pogram even doesn't manage to get a result. If there is no solution for these errors I will have to uninstall it.
