I have received many WU's. But my 4.05 client is not processing these units...its just sitting there doing nothing.

Any ideas?

Did you 4.05 exe file fail?
did your 4.05 pdb file fail?

These are usually the reason. One is 4.60 MB the other is 783 kb approx.

MAybe an uninstall and new install could help or reset project. Other than that my guess would be that prog has an error. Then you can try to download the program again.

Try a reset first, with the spotty server today reattaching could be problematic.

Mine didn't do anything either, then I noticed that the status of all those WUs is "downloading". Guess I don't really have them yet. Sigh.

Cheers.

My "4.05.exe and 4.05.pdb" downloads were reading 4.03 and they both failed for a number of reasons, too many to copy and paste here. I downloaded and installed 4.05 yesterday and everything is working fine, with the exception of the occassional "Download Failed" message. I'm crunching like mad! L8R....

I had the same problem. Reset it and it redownloaded the seti software and I'm crunching away again.

I am having a similar probalem now. I have recieved 25 WU's and the exe file and the small banner file. But the 4.60 MB file I have failed to recieve. I hate to reset the project and lose all the WU's . Is there any way to copy the PDB file and copy it to the Boinc Folder under projects. Or can I finish downloading the WU's that are in the process, move them to another folder, reset the program, and then move them back into the BOINC projects file?

Well, I reset, but all the WUs that were waiting on the seti software are now gone, and all I get is a "daily quota exceeded" message, so it's not downloading any WUs, nor the seti client software (for me it wasn't only the pdb that was bad/missing: my whole seti project directory under boinc is empty now: no exe or banner either).

I also had problems. Reset and still nothing. I had to remove Boinc and re-installed it now it is happy.

Reinstalled as well. Got a good seti client and one WU that it was done with within minutes. Now I get "no work from project" (and a lot of "No schedulers responded"). And I had to merge in the newly created computer (no biggy). So I guess I'm back to waiting, but at least I got good client software now (I hope that all this resetting doesn't trash too many of the WUs that were prepared to give us a good start with the new boinc...)

I reinstalled boinc_4.05_windows_intelx86.exe (available from many boinc projects). I first renamed my c:\program files\boinc directory to something different for backup (which was good since the newly installed boinc asked for the project url and my code, and I could copy-n-paste that from the previous account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml).

I'm still waiting for schedulers to respond. Nothing since my last post. I'll just let it do its thing and see tomorrow if it's gotten some work. I assume the schedulers are swamped now, with new clients being installed and reset everywhere.

Are you guys all that are having problems all on dial-up? I was able to get the first non-workunit file to download, but the second failed at abot 75%. . I've done two resets but now I can't get the scheduler to connect. I'm using Boinc 4.05.
K3UZZ: o you mean you uninstalled Boinc via the Control Panel? Then you had to do a merge?

I'm not on dial-up (using a cable modem). and I'm happy to report I just received some 20 WUs, and my computer's started crunching again. It just took a bit of time for it to find a scheduler it could connect to.

(and for completeness: I didn't actually uninstall my previous install of boinc 4.05 in the control panel, but only manually renamed the directory). I can always throw away the old dir.)

clicking reset project may not work
you need to detach and reattach to project
