Misfit, he could do that but he wouldn't do that because he could just take the bishop with the Queen and trade pieces then there's no mate in 3. When playing Black in these puzzles you have to play black as if his only goal is to avoid the mate in X number of moves, not to play black to fit a win in the X number of moves.

Nope. It's a world of a difference. Your first version, having Black move to f7, was just a silly move for Black, certainly not the best move...which was g6, as Misfit spotted. (And Heh, you saw that after he posted but before he deleted it, right? That's another reason for his Honorable Mention.)

No, I didn't see any of that that Misfit posted! Just his Ke8 stuff. And there's no 'best move' when the only purpose in moving his knight is to block the bishop. He can't move any other piece, beets. He had no choice. I'll be angry with you then. It's as if black could only push one of 2 pawns for his last move and arguing over which he should push because one's 5 squares from becoming a queen and one is 4 squares away. I posted a winner yesterday like that about pawns where I said 'black pushes any pawn' but I still got credit for the proper solution. You're driving me bonkers. lol
