I reviewed the comments on "All Along the Watchtower" Robert, and I've decided that your appeal is accepted. I continue to believe that Ng6 was by far the preferable answer. However, on reflection, I am persuaded mainly by your comment that "the SAME piece that black has to move in either case and it is the SAME square that White is going to move the queen to mate black". Since BOTH the mating square AND the mating piece are the SAME, I agree that a Cupie should not be witheld. Accordingly: Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Give the man a Cupie doll. I didn't hear the 'ding ding ding' so I just posted that '2nd solution'. Yes, did see you've posted an alternative solution, and got credited for this. Still, there's in my opinion no difference between these 2 solutions, since all white moves is the same, and that black chooses either of 2 possible moves giving same end-result shouldn't really be an issue. As for not getting credited, of my solutions in this thread there AFAIK no-one else has posted any solution before, 4 is credited while 3 is uncredited but AFAIK correct... Ok, granted on the 1st. of these, "Full Steam Ahead", had added a White-2b-fork that doesn't work afterall, but the 2a-solution is also typed-out so... "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." ID: 381535 ·
