Here we go again....

Israel Attacks Lebanon After Troops Seized.

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - Israel widened its offensive against Hezbollah guerrillas on Thursday, targeting Beirut's international airport and blasting southern Lebanon for a second day, police and airport officials said. At least 22 civilians were reported killed in the south, local media said.

Warplanes struck the runways of the country's only international airport early Thursday during Israel's ongoing air and sea assault against Lebanon, which began a day earlier after Hezbollah guerrillas captured two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border raid. The airport was later closed, forcing flights to be diverted to nearby Cyprus, officials said.

In Israel, the military confirmed it had targeted the airport, saying in a statement it "is a central hub for the transfer of weapons and supplies to the Hezbollah terrorist organization."

It was the first time since Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon and occupation of Beirut that the airport in the capital's Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs was hit by Israel.

Thousands of years and still no peace in that region.
A pity. :-(

I hope those 'Jews' (and a handful of christians and atheists) bury those terrorists....emotion is not in contradiction to logic.

When Hamas kidnapped an Israeli soldier and invaded the Gaza Strip, what braindead moron in Hezbollah thought "Hey, this would be a good time to kidnap a couple Israeli soldiers"?

Israel has repeatedly told Lebanon that if they let Hezbollah operate openly on Lebanese territory that Israel would hold Lebanon responsible for what Hezbollah does.

The initial kidnappings were not, in the strict sense of the word, terrorism. They were acts of war.

Israel is responding with acts of war. The primary difference between the US and Israel in this regard is that Israel is not guilt-ridden about actually using its overwhelming military advantage.

These are what are known in the civilized world as acts of war. Generally speaking, they are done without the permission of the property owner.

Lebanon recklessly permitted a known terrorist group to operate within its territory, and Lebanon was repeatedly warned that it would be held responsible.

The retaliatory acts of war are, for the most part, restricted to Hezbollah-controlled parts of Lebanon, but this is an operational decision on Israel's part and not some legal restriction.

Octa, this is not so simple as you think. The main problem is to keep peace in the area of middle east. They (Israel and Palestine) have a road map but they are ignoring it.

Israel has bent over backward for this roadmap and the plans before it. Palestine has ignored it.

And Hezbollah is not the Palestinians.

purportedly the Israelis bombed the Beiruit International airport. If this isn't a war then I need to go check my definitions. I suppose it is not an allout invasion of the country but it sure looks like it and the Lebanese government seems none too pleased. Since Lebanon became 'liberalized' after seeing a semblence of 'democracy' in Iraq they kicked out the Syrians. Let's see if that holds up.

Especially so being as Damascus is in Syria!

So what did CNN really say or don't they know where Syria is?

Good luck,
