If "like in the movie" you mean hostile and with far more advanced technology, well, then we would be in very serious trouble. The correct thing to do would be to try to communicate and negociate. And defend ourselves any way we can. But I seriously doubt any advanced alien race would be naturally hostile. I've rounded this question off before, and found that , in our opinion, most people will just carry on and not notice or consider any sort of reconsideration of anything that is necessary.....I'm sorry to say.... Or, the spaceship could land and maybe nobody will see it unless they're right next to it. I found this tidbit fascinating about Captain Cook's voyage to the polynesian islands. Apparantly, when the large Galleon came into a busy native harbour bustling with native boats, nobody saw it until the Endeavor/Resolution (I forget which trip it was) was right in their midst. The aboriginals didn't see it because they were expecting absolutely nothing like it! They couldn't 'conceptualize' it, so they didn't even recognize it sailing into harbour. It's fascinating how the human mind works! It seems that there's a cultural element to object recognition. ID: 354141 ·
