Generic SSE3 is slow - way slower than generic SSE2. Also, since someone posted information about ICCPatch, I've tested what times I get using a patched ex-P4 only SSE2/3 on AMD systems. The SSE3 version is still a little bit slower than the SSE2, but they are both quicker than the generic counterparts. However, I'm still researching the legal angle of this practice and have received a word of warning that these executables may not produce valid results (although my tests have) due to the register use being optimized specifically for Intel's products. I know it was in good humour - I wanted to compare and I am sure you would be interested as well I will share them - gotta find them first - I only ran a couple of WU's with your app, have not run any on this machine with SETI.USA app - the machine is on Rosetta right now, but I guess I can load it up with the SETI.USA app tonight and see what gives, would be intereting.
