Ooooooooo! oh! lol

If you're really brave... go here and read the stories / look at the 'Rash Hall of Fame' pics...

I made it to the third picture before I had to close out of it. Friggin' NASTY!

Once as a child I was pushed into a huge patch of "Sting Weed" and was covered head to toe in blisters that looked like pic #3. I still get shivers thinking about it to this day. What a horror.

Heh i haw that plant behind the house, some people here use it as medicine(i think they r nuts)

Don't use any of their medicine!

I have no intention of doing so.

BTW Poison Ivy and Poison have a relative - Poison Sumac.

I have some friends that have become seriously ill because of Poison Ivy...While I could practically roll in the stuff with no ill effects...So thankfully all the Rash Hall Of Fame type cases were on one of them...And not me.

Seriously... for anyone that gets exposed to the oil, here is a page with some useful info...

Witch Hazel works wonders! It's not in common use anymore, but a generation ago it was a staple in every household I knew. I still keep it for mosquito bites, bee stings (the stinger just floats right out by itself), sunburn, heat burns, cuts, well, everything. It's a great facial astringent too.

Oh, and don't do the ice thing, especially if you're looking at 2nd degree burns. It will make matters much worse and at the very least cause the top layers of skin to begin peeling before the new skin beneath is ready. That means painful peeling.

Sympathy and luck -

Jim

I used that about 3-4 years ago for some poison oak I accidently got into...

(picture this) You're cleaning some things off of the fenceline (used to seeing Honeysuckle growing there, and some weeds) and you see a pretty red flower growing there now.

I picked the flower thinking it was 'pretty' and it would be a 'romantic gesture and sure to give me points in her heart' on my part to give my better half a flower I picked...

wrong...

We had a good laugh about it :-)

All fine and well, thanks for the option all, but what if your stores are closed on a Sunday night? Any household thingamahoosies? It's luckily only the arms, I was wearing a shirt. And yes, I did use a protective lotion, it just washed off whilst swimming. :(

I'll sleep with my arms in ice tonight ;)
