Be sure that you go to settings/protection/malware catagories/potentially dangerous software; remote access utilities; prank programs; jokes...and check it. Then do a manual update from the main client window...Service/Update/...the hit the "Update Now" button. I would also suggest that you change the updater schedule from "Auto" to once every hour for maximum .dat protection, although the "Auto" setting is quite satisfactory. If the Kaspersky client asks you to reboot, it is because it has downloaded a client update rather than just .dat files. That requires a reboot. The RTFM in Adobe is extensive and can also be found in the help tab. Kaspersky is rather advanced for a non-enterprise AVP and has extensive settings and fine tuning available. Take an hour or better and read it. One more thing, be sure to change the anti-hacker setting to training mode (not the default setting which is one notch down) and after about 30 days switch it to the "High" setting. At that point it won't let anything communicate with the internet that hasn't received prior permission nor bother to ask you for permission. The max setting is of coarse total lock down and no internet connection will be allowed. The manual firewall settings are another thing entirely...they are quite extensive as are all the manual port settings, but I refer you back to the Users Guide (RTFM). Account frozen... ID: 352739 ·
