Yeah, I see what you're saying. I've even thought about getting rid of auto insurance altogether since I never have any accidents.

I wouldn't recommend that unless you live in a state that doesn't have laws requiring car insurance. If you get stopped at a sobriety check point or for any other reason, they will impound your car and DMV will fine the crap out of you. Last I heard, it was something like $50 for every day you didn't have insurance, plus they suspend your license.

Damn! You mean the state forces you get private insurance? I don't know if that's the law in my area but if it is than it looks like I'd be screwed if anything happened.

You need to have insurance for the accident you haven't had yet...Or in case an un-insured motorist hits you.

It's sensible to have it, but sometimes I just decide to take crazy chances like that.

I have an '06 Chevy HHR...I haven't been ticketed for a long time.

Your paying for full coverage on a new vehicle? Mine is basic coverage required by law, nothing extra, and my car is a decade old.

I did get a fine about two months ago for no seatbelt. The officer said I wouldn't get points for it though.

Yep...Full coverage...But I live in a small town...Well away from any large city.
