Message 335339 - Posted: 13 Jun 2006, 3:40:44 UTC - in response to Message 335325.

Back on Topic.

I had a Doctors appointment today, I drove an hour to see the Doctor
only saw the Nurse. took 5 minutes said your healing OK
come back in two weeks! 2 hours total drive for something I could have taken a picture of and emailed.

But the Goverment Privacy Rules (Hippa) says I can't email my health records....

No, it doesn't. It says that nobody other than you can email your health records without encrypting them first. The doctor is not allowed to discuss patient records in any unsecured manner (including standard email). The records belong to the patient - but it can be hard to get some doctors and staffs to realize this.

I was trying to not be technical...jeeze whiz...

What really gets on my nerves is when you are walking along at a brisk pace in a crowded place (oh that rhymes) and a few people in-front just suddenly "pull up"...there is a screech of nike's and you end up barelling into them.
(it makes me wonder if they drive their car the same way!)

- no i am not tail-gating.

or worse

People that congregate at choke-points in public places!! ARGH!
Good places to stop and block human traffic

1. The bottom of elevators
2. The tops of elevators
3. Narrow walk-throughs

There are literally hundereds of people trying to 'get by' and they (the blockers) are totally oblivious to the fact that the are jamming up the works. Perhaps we need 'human mall-horns'

It's like riding a bus in my city... everyone jams in up front so they're packed in like sardines and the back of the bus is completely empty (seats included)

Really? How odd! Where is this?

Here is another classic local customer here.... the people waiting for an elevator, don't wait for the people who have just arrived to get out! They try and push their way in as soon as the doors open!!

Classic!

Pittsburgh. One of our other annoying customs here which drives me crazy is to slow down for tunnels. In every other part of the country I've been to, people maintain speed while going through tunnels but not here, Here they slam on the brakes and crawl through 20 mph below the speed limit.

Yeah i can see how that would be annoying!

How about people that don't know how to merge, especially at high-speed (well on the motorway). OMG i just lose it when i encounter these types....

In my part of the country there are some civil engineers who need to be forced to drive the roads they designed as punishment. I know of half a dozen on-ramps where there is almost no acceleration lane, yet merging traffic is expected to get from a 30mph (~50kph) road into traffic going at least 60mph (~100kph) and usually closer to 75mph (~120kph).

One of these lethal on-ramps is the exit from the city zoo. Way to be welcoming to the tourists!
No animals were harmed in the making of the above post... much.

Some other thing that annoys me is people who think the world revolve around them and their needs. People, who don't understand that others don't care about them and their needs at all.

That sounds like my neck of the woods. We have several onramps like that in the San Diego area. You have to "floor it" to try to get up to speed because of the lack of an acceleration lane. If you're slow, like my little 4WD truck is, you end up trying to get up to speed on the shoulder.... )-:<

Maybe the municipaility can gain revenue by feeding the fatalities to the zoo animals? Just a suggestion.....

Scariest on-ramp I know. Sunland Blvd to I-5 South in Los Angeles. It's too short to get up to speed, it spills directly into the lane, there is no shoulder, and the trees block the view of oncoming traffic of you and your view of them.

One day even floored all I could hear is the airhorn of the bigrig behind me and I had a closeup view of his grill in my rearview mirror.

Okay, how about freeway exit signage that is posted AT THE EXIT.

You are motoring along looking for the correct exit (note, over here they are not numbered sequentially) and just as you see the sign, you missed the exit! DOH!

30-45 minute trip to get back to that spot!! ARGH!

Government places that give you appts and then change the times and places THREE TIMES in one day. At least they gave me some time to get real con-fuzzed. ;-)
