You will be missed.

Will he be missed or just his applications.
how many of you knew him or even valued his opinion.

Both the applications and opinion.

I don't think he's departure will stop the complaining about the credit
system. People here are taking this to serious, as if it's some kind of compatition with a prize for the winner.

For me it's a hobby and I like the science. They could give nothing for all I care.

OK maybe I was a little out of line with the sorry ars's part. But really people, I've never been surprised by how rediculous people can be. I don't know what brings it on. Maybe defective genes? Just guessing :-) What ever the reason, it's to bad we had to lose a talent like Crunch3r. Hopefully he has a change of hart and returns, even if only as a poster and nothing more.

You will be missed.

AND I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE SOME OF THE POSTERS ON THIS BOARD, YOU ARE AN UNBELIEVABLE BUNCH OF SORRY ARS!s >:-(

CRY BABIES ALL OF YOU!

I agree with the "missed" part... as well as being unable to "believe some of the posters on this board"...

And I also agree that I am a "cry baby" (but usually when I don't get big tips. lol)...

But I have to say that "sorry ARS!s" could somehow violate number 8 "Do not use offensive language."... It's just that one of my dance floor girlfriends got kicked out of class for saying that word, "ars!s" (or it could be because she yelled it at her next seat neighbor).

And someone a while back taught me this... (I have a letter convertion chart next to me.) It could be spelled as "@r515". You can't even read it anymore. LOL

But let's just forget about Crunch3r and do our own crunching at peace. We've got to find a radio of a clue of ET!!!

This just reminds me... I was just watching a few episodes of Star Trek at a friends house (don't ask why), and they seem to use "sub space" to communicate and not "radio". What if we're searching for an obsolete means of communication? Saucers can be flying by and we won't find a signal? It could be like looking for horse waste on the streets to find if anyone is traveling, but when in fact, people are using cars to travel and not horses.

(Many appologies to those still using horses to travel. I was just emphasizing a tech analogy. I love horses.)

How would YOU feel if I accused you of something that you did not do....

It's easy for anyone to say that he should not have left because of a few malcontents but unless you're on the receiving end of what Crunch3r received its not easy to say for certain that you would do this or that.

I do agree with and subscribe to...accusations are received very subjectively if you are the accused.

I think a factor that added to his delemna was that it seemed the entire NC forum got nuked with this same controversy....

I would have rolled out also...

Don't mean to try a dab at your job (TOO MUCH RESPONSIBILITLY) but as you say you cant edit posts? but i dont know if you'd prefur to leave those post to explain?

I prefer that you post as yourself, the person behind the nickname. You can tell the other person what he did wrong, in your opinion. Just as much as what the person posted was his opinion.

You don't have to hold yourself in. Just follow the guidelines and it'll be OK. :)

I did't mean about one questionable bad word. surprisingly never thought of that as bad.. It was more the whole feel and attacking nature of the second half of the post.

Ah OK.

Yet even then I am bound by my options.
And then it's up to the rest of the forumites what to think of that part of the message and if they want to react to it.

I only explained what we can and cannot do since you wondered why we let this through. :)

I know.. No anger no anything directed at you at all. you didn't say it. I think you get the heat for others sometimes.
If i edited out the parts about 'not bout bad word but about message' part in my previous post and just leave the farwell would you be happier to remove this and the other off topic post(s)? Don't mean to try a dab at your job (TOO MUCH RESPONSIBILITLY) but as you say you cant edit posts? but i dont know if you'd prefur to leave those post to explain?

The trouble is, we cannot edit posts. Only hide them or move them.

So, am I going to hide a Goodbye Crunch3r thread over bad language used in it? No.
Am I hiding any posts in it that quote that part of bad language? No.

I can honestly say thats the most useless and most considered to be agains the forum #2 rule post i've seen yet.

Its also the biggest attempt to stick a huge laddle into the pot and start sloshing things about again ive seen yet. Your just trying to start the anger again. Well you certainly have here so welcome and congrats to bieng the second ever to be temporarily put on my bocklist. I'm sure we'll both be happier this way.

Do you reaise that you become one of those you said that about when you posted that?

You couldn't just leave it as a nice but solum farwell.

Well, crunch3r should have not left just becuase of a few people trying to accuse him, specially if he knew that he was not cheating (at least in purpose). He overeacted. I'm not saying he wasn't helpful though. I will miss his complicated posts about big numbers and stuff :)

Maybe next time we'll have to appreciate what people like Crunch3r have done for the Seti community and accentuate the positive (Good advice from Johnny Mercer in February 1945). With that water over the dam, it's time for the programmers to regroup and develop a new program, taking into account that new, different units might be appearing on the horizon. I understood that the Intel compiler only cost $400. That doesn't sound like very much. I had thought it was a lot more than that.
