Trying the most recent Tru64 build, doesn't want to fetch work from the servers. 2006-10-17 00:21:41 [---] Insufficient work; requesting more 2006-10-17 00:21:41 [SETI@home] Requesting 8640.00 seconds of work 2006-10-17 00:21:41 [SETI@home] Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] Host location: home 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] Using your default project prefs 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] No work from project 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] No work from project 2006-10-17 00:21:42 [SETI@home] Deferring communication with project for 2 hours, 55 minutes, and 41 seconds ...continues repeatedly. The readme makes some mention of installing HP Tru64 patches (this is on 5.1) - any idea if the above behavior is covered by a specific one? I'd rather not go through the whole mess that is DigiHewPaq's patch process and not be any better off. |

Trying the most recent Tru64 build, doesn't want to fetch work from the servers. I have a lot of TRU64 releated problems with the new SETI Enhanced, so there is no SETI Enhanced 5.x released in the moment. But I am still working on a TRU64 port. The TRU64 binaries on Stefans site are with the old SETI version 4.x. There is no more work for the SETI 4.x applications available on the project. |

I think it is time to summary the list of the available ports : Hi, and thank's for seti_enhanced-ppc-v6-g5-nographics that is happily crunching at my Dual G5 with Tiger. So now I've fetched the v7.1-g5-nographics app and will upgrade. Well, but then I see these "seti_boinc_tarball"-files (with sourcecode I guess) and note that there is no such file mentioning version 7, like "src-v7". I'm just curious. How come? :-) |

Finally I manage to install seti on my debian HPPA. If someone out there have a box, here is how I have installed it. -Set you sources.list (/etc/apt/sources.list) to the follow debian ftp deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian unstable main -update # apt-get update -install the boinc client # apt-get install boinc-client -install the seti client # apt-get install boinc-app-seti Don’t try to install the boinc manager its broken!!! -Edit the “remote_hosts.cfg†to allow remote manager control (/var/lib/boinc-client /remote_hosts.cfg) add the ip of a trusted boinc manager -->Boinc runs as a daemon and I had some problem restart it so I rebooted... -So reboot After the reboot access your new seti from a trusted boinc manager and attached it to the seti project. Reboot again and your good to go! BR, dbmms |

How come? :-) The v6 and v7.x are ‘private’ version numbers specific to the optimized apps. As shown in the output files from their results, they’re based on the S@h Enhanced v5.13 source code. |

Hi! I have a Mac Pro Dual Intel Core-Duo 3.0GHz running 5.17 at the moment. It is running sweet as honey and returning WUs as regular as clockwork in ~ 6,000 cpusecs for 36.23 credits. My MacBook Pro (Single 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo) is also running sweet with ~ 9,500 cpus per WU and returning a request of 36 credits/WU. I have none granted yet as I only switched over to Beta 12 hours or so ago. |
