Ummm, did I infer that they were? If I did, that wasn't my intention at all.

The thing is...they ( al Qaeda ) don't seem to be LOOKING for Islamic states...they are looking for Worldwide Islam and they don't seem to be willing to settle for anything less than that.

We in the U.S. are the Infidels. Al Qaeda wants us all destroyed. Kinda ruins my day lol. I have done nothing to them, but if I was in the wrong place at the wrong time...I would be S.O.L. simply because I happen to live in the U.S.

Fortunately, Al Qaeda doesn't seem to have much interest in blowing up a sugar processing plant, so for the time being, I think I am in pretty good shape.

You basically just strengthened my point though. You are right in saying that Osama isn't going to be walking into a cafe anytime soon. That only means that he is smart enough to know that there is plenty of " cannon fodder " out there. The ones that are buying into the propaganda are the foolish ones who think that blowing themselves up is the smart thing to do. THEY are the ones that don't care about dying. THEY are the ones that are convinced that they will be held as martyrs and get a higher place in the afterlife. Bin Laden is smart enough to figure out " why do it yourself when there are PLENTY of others to do it instead "?

I would be willing to bet that ole' Bin Laden sits there and chuckles to himself when he thinks of how easy it is to get people to commit murder/suicide on his behalf. He is no better than Charles Manson, and claiming that he works for Allah doesn't change that fact.

Where are the lies? Robert, what if it turns out that there WAS some kind of strange conspiracy involved with the 9/11 attacks? That would seem to move it from the realm of irrationality into the realm of " good solid scholarship.

I've had professors shoe-horn 9/11 into courses before, but at least it had some relevance to the issue at hand. One was a course of logic and reasoning, and the professor decided to push a "the administration hasn't provided every last dram of evidence therefore the whole thing is a CIA plot" agenda in the class. Nice to get a logical fallacy from a logic teacher...

I completely agree. As much as Robert likes to say that I am illogical on occasion, even I can see where that would fall into being an illogical idea. Refer to my statement about the statements being made in the correct forums. My statement was as follows....

This course was about the religion of Islam. It was not a reasoning course, or a forensics course, or a political science course, and only tangentally a history course. The professor is pushing an agenda and exercising poor scholarship.

As far as I know, the gentleman in question IS consistent in his teaching. I haven't heard or read anything about him changing his opinion.
