I dont know what does not work write, I just want to report this to you.. You need to download the app_info.xml from the same page where you downloaded 5.12 version. It's there you only need to look for it. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

I dont know what does not work write, I just want to report this to you.. You cannot run the optimized app. without a matching app_info.xml ! There's any app_info.xml for download at my page but you might have to edit it. Join BOINC United now! |

I wonder why the xml file references 5.11? The optimized app file is called 5.12. I am using linux and edited the app info file to accommodate the Naparst app I was using. I just downloaded two regular SETI and about ten enhanced. All the enhanced errored out, but the regular are crunching ok. |

I dont know what does not work write, I just want to report this to you.. You stated there is an app_info.xml on your web page, I could not find it. I am using one that seems to be working but am not sure yet as my cache has not drained down to start crunching enhanced WU's yet. Do you have an app...xml that is recommened ? Thanks in advance, and thank you again for a great product. |

I dont know what does not work write, I just want to report this to you.. You can click Here and just before all the downloads, you will see In Order to get the application running you need a file called app_info.xml. It can be downloaded here. Its just above the AMD icon.

I wonder why the xml file references 5.11? The optimized app file is called 5.12. Ok, never mind. I can't run the linux optimized because I got the wrong answers on the dependencies thing. |

I wonder why the xml file references 5.11? The optimized app file is called 5.12. Try scrolling down the page at Crunch3r's site, you may find what you are looking for. Edit: my bad, Did not notice that you stated that you are running linux. Thought maybe you where looking for the windows builds. :) 98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8 And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer. |

Thanx again and great work Crunch3r! Works fine for me on all my machines. Only problem is that I'm getting about two and a half times less credits than it's claiming...

I wonder why the xml file references 5.11? The optimized app file is called 5.12. Probably because some regular WUs have still been distributed. It references 5.12 as well however, if one scrolls down in the .xml file. I checked to be sure. With both crunch3r apps and this .xml, one can handle both sets of WUs, and not have to run either non-optimized. Actually, someone on my team forum, after I linked crunch3r's site from this thread here, mentioned that they had recieved some 4.11 today, so he's guessing some splitters are still releasing it. Not sure when the old units will phase out... |

Please correct me if I'm wrong here... I have installed these from Crunch3rs site, setiathome_4.11_windows_intelx86.exe (Pentium3_SSE) setiathome_5.12_windows_intelx86.exe (Enhanced_5.12_IPP_AR_FPOPS_SSE) and the new app_info.xml The newer enhanced wu's run ok, however I get this error on the non enhanced wu's... 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM||Starting BOINC client version 5.2.13 for windows_intelx86 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM||libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.3 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM||Data directory: C:\\Program Files\\BOINC 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM|SETI@home|Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM|SETI@home|WU refers to nonexistent app_version: setiathome 511 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM|SETI@home|Can't link workunit in state file 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM|SETI@home|link_result: nonexistent WU 01mr99aa.10694.21792.1028410.1.53 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM|SETI@home|Can't link result 01mr99aa.10694.21792.1028410.1.53_2 in state file 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM|SETI@home|ACTIVE_TASK::parse(): result not found 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM||Processor: 1 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM||Memory: 247.48 MB physical, 734.30 MB virtual 5/10/2006 7:57:04 AM||Disk: 37.27 GB total, 30.75 GB free 5/10/2006 7:57:05 AM||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2006-04-24 08:23:11) 5/10/2006 7:57:05 AM||General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults |

I have installed these from Crunch3rs site,I don't think you got this using the app_info.xml posted currently (and since at least 16 hours ago) on crunch3r's site. It contains no reference to "511" at all. Perhaps you have a app_info.xml from another source in your ...\\projects\\setiathome.berkeley.edu directory which you failed to overwrite? For example, I posted an app_info.xml about May 7 which contained 511 references, which will not work with the current ap and ap name. |

I just got two new computers to replace the old PIII 450 I had. They're Pentium D950s with Xp. I was trying to download Crunch3r's new optimized Enhanced crunch program into my Boinc program folder but I'm not sure I did it correctly. The default program shows that old graph tray which really slows things down a lot. I believe that both Crunch3r's zipped and the unzipped files are in the berkeley.edu spot but is that the correct place? Does that automatically overwrite the slower Enhanced program in that folder or should I delete the slower cruncher manually? Thanks. Clyde |

I just visited the other computer (with my Iogear monitor switch), returned and saw that doggone graph tray here again. So I must have done something wrong in setting up Crunch3r's new optimized Enhanced crunching program. |

So I must have done something wrong in setting up Crunch3r's new optimized Enhanced crunching program. Make sure you download and put the app_info.xml file, also! It's a 2nd download on the site, and needs to be unzipped in the same directory. This is what I did wrong, and it blew up on me. My movie https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/502242 |

A cuople of questions. I had a litle misshap and had to reinstall Boinc and the Seti client so I only have the enhanced on my computer, do I need the app_info.xml or can I just overrite the original 5.12 with the one from Crunch3r. Should I use the one Windows 5.12_IPP_SSE2, I have checked that my Athlon64 supports SSE2 but not SSE3. At last what does he mean by this "NOTE: Signal counting only works properly if the application stays in memory." and how do I make it so and what happens when I turn of my computer. |

Thanks, Pooh Bear. Yes, I had put that app_info file in the same folder and unzipped it. |
