This work unit seems to have generated an error for everyone who crunched it:

If I see a red-flagged workunit and see I've lost several hours computation, and see that most others who had calculated that unit have red shades too, I can feel comfortable that at least it was probably not with my apparatus but with that at Berkeley. I figure that the team there is doing its best and let those bad units pass as due to bugs yet with Boinc, SetiEnhanced and the hardware/software there. But if I see that my bad result is the only one and see three good results I begin to worry and wonder what was the problem that caused that error. The explanation in "hotmetal" rarely tells me anything.

All the results I return today (since ~16 UT) have a computation error, for Linux windos xp and OSX systems. These units were sent between May 24 and May 29. The other participants also got a computation error for the same units. The error diagnostic seems to be related to the time the results are returned, not to the unit themselve. A validation program error ?

3 out of 7 (one's in progress) computers received validate errors on WU http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=78176760,
sent May 14th. And 3 out 7 (again, one's in progress, plus 3 red bars were "unsent") computers received validate errors on WU
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=79926615, sent May 28th.
I had more, but they're no longer viewable. Haven't been able to upload since this morning due to error 403, so there's 7 waiting. If they error out after finally uploading, I'll be seriously upset.

Results that has validate errors due to our server problems yesterday have been reset. Most should clear up and get credit by themselves. I may have some cleanup to do later.

I never had this much trouble with the classic version, my only option is to remove BOINC as all it has done is screw my system.

I see more computer-specific errors and redlines. At least two other results of those units got through successfully. One was "cannot find path specified". Another I aborted after two hours because it wasnt progressing after at least several minutes. I hope it's not due to those new D950s, etc. And I'm not overclocking, etc. It looks like at least ten percent of the units are bad, including the ones that include three bad results.

Getting this rather frequently - last one after 7 hours crunching:

06/01/06 10:40:33|SETI@home|Unrecoverable error for result 23fe99aa.11857.10322.79836.3.92_2 (The system cannot find the path specified. (0x3) - exit code 3 (0x3))
06/01/06 10:40:33||request_reschedule_cpus: process exited

Doesn't matter whether it's a Xeon or Pentium D machine - all with ample ressources.
