I just added Windows XP to my Mac Mini single core intel computer. Here are the stats provided by seti for each OS. the following numbers are in million ops/sec OS, floating, integer XP Home, 1351, 2819, OSX 10.4.6, 1196, 3344, OSX 10.4.5*, 392, 641, * This is the same computer running OSX. The difference was that the faster numbers were acheived using the Universal seti binary located at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php?dev=1 |

I just added Windows XP to my Mac Mini single core intel computer. Here are the stats provided by seti for each OS. Pretty wild, very cool test Greg! :) * I LIKE THE RESULTS TOO... (It's ironic that XP outperforms MacOS X, on its OWN native machine platform too no less, will wonders NEVER cease!) APK P.S.=> What is this "Seti Universal Library"? I don't see it on the d/l page, but then again, I just woke up & NO COFFEE YET (My brain requires it... lol!)... apk http://torry.net/authorsmore.php?id=1781 "The object's hull is made of SOLID neutronium: A single StarShip cannot combat it!" quote Mr. Spock, Star Trek original series, episode title: "The Doomsday Machine" |
