FYI. It usually takes about 30 WU's with Trux's BOINC Manager to settle in. It starts low, drops even more for three or four WU and then slowly starts to climb, not making real progress for the first 20 WU or so.

Strongly recommend you suspend all WU's and let the one running finish before doing the change. Less likely to drive the Server's estimate of how long it takes to do a WU too far out of wack. When it does, it takes a lot longer to get Trux's calculation back on track.

One thing about Trux's calibrating client is that you need to allow it to calibrate. It doesn't happen overnight. It did the same thing to me, but since I installed it almost over a month and a half ago, its calibrating just fine.

I've tried using Trux's calibrating BOINC client three times. Two times it adjusted my claimed credits down from 18-ish to around 12 when I was hoping for an increase to about 30! The third time it simply did not work at all and I got some sort of error message that I no longer recall.

I'd like to know if there are any other clients that can improve my claimed credits to be about what the average work unit is claimed at. I realize that my credits granted are usually more than I claim, but I'd like to claim what I earn and leave it at that.

The key to using Trux's client is that it needs to run through several WUs before it zeros in on a more accurate credit claim. It takes time.

If your just running SETI, you can get one of the optimized BOINC clients from some of the other optimizing guru's, basically it inflates your benchmarks. However, if your running other projects along with SETI, some people concider this cheating on the other projects. Crunch3r's site has many optimized items there, take a look. Enjoy
