OK - boincdv is really obscure. Where do I unzip it and what file do I "clear the debt". The readme is no help. I hacked around until dv said OK. It still happens. No work requested. I downloaded it into the BOINC directory. When I ran it , i specified the account files. Not that the readme was any help since it was not. I de-installed boincLogx and Map view -> still the same. Going to try a reboot next (just did one 3 hours ago...)

the key is in the first message 3/10/2006 7:23:17 PM|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting resultswhich means that it's not requesting work from SETI for some reason ipconfig /flushdns won't help, because it's not a network problem to work out what's going on here some background will help how many prjects are you attached to? also could you run the BoincDV tool (debt viewer) and post the results here because if it's just SETI and einstein that are low on work, it might be because other projects are owed some CPU time something simple, on the "projects" tab in the manager, you don't have "no new work" set do you? Anything else I can try. Deinstall BoincLogX ? i don't think so, follow the suggestions above first, because the problem i think is that boinc isn't requesting any work, not that there's a problem getting it Want to search the BOINC Wiki, BOINCstats, or various BOINC forums from within firefox? Try the BOINC related Firefox Search Engines |

3/10/2006 7:23:17 PM|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results However, I'm down to 1 WU in process and 1 in the cache. I normally have 6 or 8. This is my home machine and my office machine is working fine. All this started when I installed BoincLogX and Seti Map View yesterday. No new work units since. Even Einstein@Home has stopped getting WUs. I tried ipconfig /flushdns Anything else I can try. Deinstall BoincLogX ? The post about "try this URL" results in "Forbidden". I looked in the Wiki and it says I requested an update manually. Well....yea...I did, but that's not it.... Looking at the "projects" page, I see "no new work" as an option for S@H and E@H leading me to believe that new work is currently allowed. Indeed, I clicked it to "not allow new work" and then back again to no avail. Asking for new work only gives this: 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||Starting BOINC client version 5.2.13 for windows_intelx86 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.3 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||Data directory: C:\\Program Files\\BOINC 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||Processor: 1 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||Memory: 510.00 MB physical, 845.07 MB virtual 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||Disk: 38.25 GB total, 19.64 GB free 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Computer ID: 17337; location: ; project prefs: default 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM|Einstein@Home|Computer ID: 477835; location: home; project prefs: default 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM|SETI@home|Computer ID: 46409; location: ; project prefs: default 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2005-12-22 08:43:56) 3/10/2006 7:22:55 PM||General prefs: using your defaults 3/10/2006 7:22:56 PM||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address 3/10/2006 7:22:56 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Deferring computation for result hadcm3l_1a0w_00060101_0 3/10/2006 7:22:56 PM|SETI@home|Deferring computation for result 09au01aa.21558.14593.773582.1.248_0 3/10/2006 7:22:56 PM|Einstein@Home|Resuming computation for result r1_1165.0__1039_S4R2a_3 using albert version 437 3/10/2006 7:23:13 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 3/10/2006 7:23:17 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 3/10/2006 7:23:17 PM|SETI@home|Reason: Requested by user 3/10/2006 7:23:17 PM|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 3/10/2006 7:23:22 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 3/10/2006 7:38:14 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 3/10/2006 7:38:15 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Restarting result hadcm3l_1a0w_00060101_0 using hadcm3l version 507 3/10/2006 7:38:15 PM|Einstein@Home|Pausing result r1_1165.0__1039_S4R2a_3 (left in memory) 3/10/2006 7:38:18 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Sending scheduler request to http://bbc.cpdn.org/bbc_cgi/cgi 3/10/2006 7:38:18 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Reason: Requested by user 3/10/2006 7:38:18 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 3/10/2006 7:38:23 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Scheduler request to http://bbc.cpdn.org/bbc_cgi/cgi succeeded 3/10/2006 7:44:24 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 3/10/2006 7:44:29 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 3/10/2006 7:44:29 PM|SETI@home|Reason: Requested by user 3/10/2006 7:44:29 PM|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 3/10/2006 7:44:34 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 3/10/2006 7:44:34 PM|SETI@home|General preferences have been updated 3/10/2006 7:44:34 PM||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2006-03-10 19:43:52) 3/10/2006 7:44:34 PM||General prefs: using your defaults 3/10/2006 8:14:25 PM|BBC Climate Change Experiment|Pausing result hadcm3l_1a0w_00060101_0 (left in memory) 3/10/2006 8:14:25 PM|Einstein@Home|Resuming result r1_1165.0__1039_S4R2a_3 using albert version 437 3/10/2006 8:25:50 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 3/10/2006 8:25:50 PM|SETI@home|Restarting result 09au01aa.21558.14593.773582.1.248_0 using setiathome version 418 3/10/2006 8:25:50 PM|Einstein@Home|Pausing result r1_1165.0__1039_S4R2a_3 (left in memory) 3/10/2006 8:25:51 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 3/10/2006 8:25:51 PM|SETI@home|Reason: Requested by user 3/10/2006 8:25:51 PM|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 3/10/2006 8:25:56 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded plus SETI@home classic workunits 84,905
