We moved a hard drive. I still have access to it but it is no longer the master drive. There were several wu's for 3 projects. I have installed BOINC on the new master and attached to the projects. Can I get it to finish the old wu's or do I just bail on them and start fresh with new ones? |

I'll try it. Thanks |

Al, aka Pappa just copied boinc to another directory and ran it from there and he ended up with a new computer he has listed here and can't merge them! If it's just a few work units then forget about it and move on -_- ----- |

And any way you go that is not recoverable. |

In the past, I've installed BOINC and then copied the entire BOINC directory from the "old" place right over the new BOINC directory. Of course, if the "new" BOINC has work, you'll lose the new work, so it's a judgement call. |

The best way is to install Boinc on the new computer but do not let it attache to any projects, cancel that portion of the install. Stop Boinc. Delete the new Boinc directory. Copy over the old Boinc directory from it's hard drive. Start boinc and now your running Boinc just where you left off. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

Copy over the old Boinc directory from it's hard drive. Start boinc and now your running Boinc just where you left off. If you do this in the reverse order it should work fine with no need to try to stop BOINC from starting. Copy the old folder to the new location and then install BOINC to the new folder.
