Yeah, thank you so much, I got it fixed... Thanx for the help! Dont take my criticism personally, but the documentation to the program is quite unsatisfying, isn't it? There's very little official documentation, but the heroic efforts of certain volunteers have resulted in the BOINC Wiki, which will likely answer any questions you have, as well as a whole lot more you haven't even thought of ... |

As Bill stated, the preferences are now under you account. This was done because many people built farms of several dozen computers or more. To make changes across all those computes was difficult/impossible at times since all the computers were not at the same place. So now you can make the changes on your account and affect all computers on your account, which is much simpler.

You could try editing your preferences under "your account". Set them so BOINC does not run when computer is in use. Maybe learn a little about the program before saying it "sucks". |

Omg, this new Boinc version sucks! Isn't there any way of finetuning, such as configuring screen resolution e.g., or a "just run when screen saver is active" -button like there was in the classic version? I'm leading my computer quite often to its limits doing ordinary work like CAD-drawing and 3D-modelling, so I can't permanently run boinc in the background. And always suspending Boinc manaully and and having to set it back into action each time you go for the can sucks... |
