The answer is no. However, the splitters are down and no new work is being issued. Read the news first and check the server status before posting. Have a nice day. Oh BTW...I suggest you take the time and watch this. Clikc on the "watch this movie" tab. Enjoy & learn!

Yeah, I don't think that was necessary either. I'd been wondering the same thing, and while I just figured it had been something wrong with the seti database, I did not have any way of knowing there was a Technical News or Server Status page.
Thanks to MJKelleher, now anyone who needs to know about this kind of thing can find it easily.

Several searches I did of the forum returned with primarily Seti@Home Classic information which is not of much use to me, so the user cannot search easily for this information. He asked a simple question and the reply that could have been made (and was by MJKelleher) would have been simple and incredibly helpful.

Before you insult another user with your Steamforums video, I suggest you watch it yourself.

Ans as for pronunciation or spellings I don't care, last time I checked messages did not have to be 100% correct

Hell, the Americans have been mis-spelling English words for years....!

e.g.:
ALUMINIUM

Spot the I between the N and the U....??

Tim

The info is there in the 1st place to say why there is no work it takes less than a minute to check before asking a pointless question that is already answered elsewhere.

I agree the comment was unnecessary. Many BOINCers are new to BOINC having recently moved from Classic Seti.

Questions like these are bound to come up, and they will be repeated many more times.

They saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all," I think should be used -- not only here on this BB (bulletin board), but everywhere. The World would be a MUCH nicer place to live.

Oh the joy of stupid questions after an outage, does no one check 1st before they open there mouth??

Might I hazard that that is a very judgemental post ...

Hope they get things back up soon, running out of work in the cache. Most machines down to less then 4 hours work left. Oh well, guess other projects will get more time, lol. Get things cleaned up guys and get us back under full steam once things are ready.

I havent been able to get any work for about three days now.... Whats going on?

I have been able to get some in the last three days but it has been very sporadic. It may help you if you increase your cache ("Connect to network about every" in general preferences) a little in order to get through the down times and still be able to crunch.

When you have difficulties connecting, check the Home Page, the Server Status, and the Technical News. Today, you'll see that yesterday there was a campus-wide power outage, and then the lab went on to do some maintenance on the servers. Today was the normal Wednesday outage for database backup. Any time this happens, nobody gets through while they're working, and then there's such a traffic jam of backlogged work and requests that it takes a few hours for everybody to get through. If you're still seeing this problem tomorrow, then go to the Messages tab, copy the last 20 or so entries from there and paste them into a reply here. Don't bang on the Update button or reset, we need to see what BOINC is doing or trying to do by itself.
