I have no words to describe how I feel. I wish Paul the best (of course).

The new domain for the Wiki can be found here. It appears that Christopher Malton and Rytis Slatkevičius will host the Wiki now and after Pauls' site closes.

Paul,

There is almost nothing else I can add except: I will miss you!! I've always looked forward to reading your posts, and held you in the highest regard. You and your efforts for the community are much appreciated. I've used your wiki a few times, and have taken the trouble to thank you in the past. I thank you again.

I'm very much saddened by your decision, but wish you all the best always.

Take Care,
dan

Paul,

I am extremly disappointed and saddened that it has come to this. But you earned my respect a long time ago and I respect any decision you feel you must make.

I want to wish you all the very, very best for the future.

Please, please pop in from time to time and let us know how and what you are doing.

Take care friend.

Paul, it was you and a few others like you that made me feel welcome when I joined in Nov. Having been a trainer and a writer of technical papers, I have been highly impressed with the time, effort, technical skill and outright devotion that it took to create and maintain the Wiki. Believe me, I know first hand what a soul-taker such a project can be.

I'm proud to join the others here in saying that we were honored to have you as one of us and that we'll miss your presence. The project is going to be the worse for the loss of you.

Finally, I'd like to applaud your courage in making the decision to say farewell to something in which you've invested so much of yourself. We all know the courage it takes to take the final step and commit to such a choice. I hope that wherever you choose to focus your energies, you'll find something that is fulfilling and rewarding.

Best wishes to you, sir.

Jim

Hello Paul,

it's a sad day for BOINC to see you leave.

You've done a tremendous effort to help the projects. I can't thank you enough for it.

I wish you the very best for your future, may someone else profit from your generosity.

...I had thought to explain the motivations that have brought me to this point but have decided that for the most part it would just be another wasted effort. Those that need to heed the words will see no need. And those that agree with them have no power. So, not much point in long explanations. But, in short, I find I can no longer be a part of a system such as I see today. Dissent is suppressed, good ideas are ignored or marginalized, valuable work is discarded, participants are abused; all this, and more.

Does anybody have any links to boards e.a., where these discussions/arguments took place?
Is it actually in the public domain?
What has happened?

It is sad that you have had to make this decision. I fully understand your reasons but I still am sad that your leaving and shutting down your site. Your work on documenting BOINC has helped many people, myself included, to better understand everything from the basic concept of BOINC to the technical issues that caused us all problems at one time or another.

Please know that your hard work is very much appreciated by those that used your WIKI. Take care and I wish you the very best in your future endeavors.

Gosh darn, Paul.
I wish it didn't have to be this way.

We both started out with such high hopes. Sadly, I had to curtail my involvement from active to passive quite a while back, but you managed to carry on regard(reward)less.

I would hope that you could reconsider, even to continue in a passive role if the active one has become too stressful.

Best Wishes
Chris

Thank you Paul for the Boinc Wiki, I would have been lost without it.

Thank you Paul for making your log files available. I will be hosting them on my SETI log repository for all to freely use and analyze. http://www.reubengathright.com/seti/
