how much of a performance gain do you get or is the only difference the correct amount of credit reported? (as i noticed my credit requested has dropped in half as well). Thanks :) having an optimised client won't improve performance, it's only to adjust the amount you claim (but that won't be needed soon because enhanced does things in a totally different way) although your credit claims will have reduced for each WU, what you will be granted for each WU will be around what it was before, and because you're now crunching with an optimised app, you'll be going thru more WU/day and so your RAC should actually go up (because you'll have a larger number of WU's that are granted a normal ammount of credit each day) Want to search the BOINC Wiki, BOINCstats, or various BOINC forums from within firefox? That would be the only one I would try if I was running other projects. I haven't tried the calibrating client on other projects but from what I'm hearing is that it can be set to take them into account. The other optimized BOINC clients will bump the claimed credit up on the other projects and wouldn't be considered fair in my opinion. Maybe do a search on the other projects boards about the calibrating client and see what people are thinking there. |

Generally for me I have seen maybe a fifty percent increase in credit claimed with a regular optimized BOINC client. I feel the best optimized client at the moment is the TruXoft Calibrating BOINC Core Client. I feel it claims the fairest credits. Will that work fine with all my other projects too? I just recently learned about an optimized application for SETI@home (Crunch3r's) and have installed it on all my computers, and now they all do work in half the time they did before(literally). But I have heard a little about an optimized boinc client, or something like that. and would like to learn more information on them. I heard that some are good with all projects, some just good with seti....if you go with one thats just for seti, how much of a performance gain do you get or is the only difference the correct amount of credit reported? (as i noticed my credit requested has dropped in half as well). Thanks :) It corrects the credit "claimed". And I can't really call it 'correcting' it's really calibrating by claiming what you would have normally claimed had you not used an optimized application. |

Both the comps have 2 gigs of ram(dual channel) |
