Congratulations Andy, and welcome to BOINC!
About the Torino Olympic games: We're going to forget it as soon as possible... it's a disaster for Norway. The worst winter olympics for us in decades I beleive.... :(

But the arrangements are excellent! Congrats to Torino and Italy! :)

Yes, i know Voest Alpine. It?s a famous company in Austria.

We do a good amount of work for them. Their products are some of the best I have worked with.

Everyone I have met are really good people. I would like to visit Austria sometime, the photos I see on Voest-Alpine calendars are beautiful.

I was in Austria many years ago in Imst to visit the SOS Children's Village there. And the country is so beautiful and the people so friendly. It was a great experience. :-)

The SOS Children's Villages is a great charity organization.

Austria is easily one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Just rent "The Sound of Music" and look at the scenes from the opening and the interlude. Stunning. Breathtaking. Actually the whole region is that way, of course. AND it holds far more fond memories for me than the geographical scenery. I had my very first tryst with an amorous young lovely named Gitti in that country. I was 16. She told me, "I love you" 3 hours after meeting her (a much longer time than usual in years since, but I was young then). What was I to do? Ahhh, Austria, land of fabulous mountainous regions ....

Without love, breath is just a clock ... ticking.

I referred to two types of beautiful mountainous regions; the warm, eager and happy majestic ones and the ones that just stand there majestically with people skiing on them. Both are cool.

The trip to Austria I did, was actually a tour of study, where we started visiting the Children's Village in Imst, the first one founded, and then we went to Venezia, where we spent 3 whole days. I totally fell in love with Venezia, so if I ever get married to a millionaire, I'll ask him to buy me a palace at Canal Grande there. ;-) I toured the city, saw all the famous buildings and several of the museums, and got "abducted" by an attendant (I smiled to him!) inside il Duomo de San Marco, where he took me "offstage" and showed me a lot of the art, that's not shown in public, and I have actually touched the bronze horses! The real ones, not the copies! I also visited Peggy Guggenheim's Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, where I totally fell in love with this painting, the Empire of Light by Magritte. It was breathtaking to see the art there.

Then we went to Verona, where I, of course, went to see Juliet's grave. I had a very unpleasant experience with il Carabinieri in a park there though. :-( Let me just say, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time in the wrong situation. 'Nuff said. But, my God, it scared the crap out of me!

And finally we went to Reggio Emilia, staying in Modena, where we spent 3 whole days visiting different daycare centers. It was so interesting and inspiring, and I've actually used some of the methods, I saw being used there, in my work as a social worker with mentally handicapped people.

But we never came to Torino, so maybe next time? :-)
