Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've had no problems with any of the Alpha versions which I've been using since 5.3.6 . I like living on the edge, so I try each one as they come out. I'm just prepared for the day when one of them causes my system totally crash. My recommendation is, stay away from v5.3.20, and instead wait for next version that hopefully will be better... I've had no luck with the source for the dev builds for two months now. No answers at the BOINC message board. I tried to compile the v5.3.20 source a bit ago. When I set it to 'run based on preferences' it errored out all the work units and ignored 'network access disabled'. Good thing I had my dsl modem turned off. Then it crashed when I selected the stats tab. Back to v5.2.15 Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws.
