Message 252165 - Posted: 22 Feb 2006, 22:09:15 UTC - in response to Message 251687.

Thanks for the kind comments Lee ;-)

My site is also affected, and I've also received e-mails from some users complaining that my stats are out of date.

Sometimes I wonder I provide an FAQ...

well neil, you also put great effort into your site, it must cost quite a bit to run as well, which just shows pure dedication!

i can speak from first hand experience after discussing the innards of caching and your rss feed, which i must say is now sparkling :)

MundayWeb will automatically update the Seti stats around 5am GMT tomorrow morning (23rd).

lol, quite, and that's while it's compressed!!
maybe willy has finally run out of disk space ;)

i could be wrong thou, it could just be bandwidth trouble or something like that
a http request is quite big, but a ping or trace is quite small, so http may seem to fail, but ping/trace will work

but now boincstats has gone inaccessible {sniff}.
(trace seems to give up at 217.67.247.5 ... just past a teleglobe server in Amsterdam).

i guess apache has died, a trace will only tell you if the machine is on the network, but nothing about the services running on it

overtake
it's based on the the differances in RAC.
from my understanding boincstats calculates it's own credit/day value, and uses that

well actually a "credit rate" value which is based on longer term rate but influenced by short term to, and is generally quite accurate when used with overtake, there may be a slight lag, but not much, willy has got most things like that sorted, using better formulas than RAC lol

I'm alo wondering what it means on the stats as to the OVERTAKE coluums - make no sense to be - overtake WHAT OR WHO?

The way I've seen the term overtake used is it is referring to how many days until you overtake the next person, team or computer on the list.

On my BOINCstats world position a guy named "Roberto Biagiotti" would have overtaken me in one day. It looks like he will have to wait a little bit more.

on BIONCstats that is indead how it used, and it's based on the the differances in RAC. which can be slight off if you compariing it to an inactive users hos RAC is still winding down dispire not returning new credit
