Looking at my stats this morning I find that instead of the steady increase my stats look like a penny stock - going on a bumpy downhill run from 136 to 94 over 31 days. The project tab reflects 26162.76 total credits. What happened? I would gladly include a screen capture but don't know how to attach. Thank you |

Read the WIKI on Recent Average Credit Hello Pooh Bear, Thanks for the quick reply and link. My problem is the results, instead of gradually increasing from lower left to upper right ( / ), are decreasing from upper left to lower right ( \\ ). Regards, George |

RAC means zilch, it basically measures the amount of work that is validated in a set period, based on some formula, But I could be wrong ;o( Excerpts from the WIKI; Recent Average Credit (5725 bytes) 3: The current running average of credit earned by each [[Host| Computer]], [[Participant]... 7: ...oday having more weight in the average than the [[Credit]] granted in the past; each day farther back the ... 9: ... the value does not jump up and down as [[Granted Credit]] events occur. 11: ...dit]] is granted for a week, the [[Recent Average Credit]] is reduced by half anyway. 13: ...cing credits does not reduce the [[Recent Average Credit]], but rather will increase it from what it would... Credit take 3 for a quorum, 2 then must pass validation and then credit can be granted, this process can take from a few hours {rarely} to 2 weeks or worst case a month or more..... And the beat goes on Sonny and Cher BOINC Wiki |

If there is an image under my name then that is the screen capture from the stats tab of the BOINC manager. I have continually be processing work so I don't understand why the down turn in results . . .No image under your name, but the stats tab can be behind the the real-time stats available here. On that stats tab, you can change from RAC to total credit, and see the graph rise pretty steadily, and that total is really the more important number (in my opinion, of course). If you look at your results here, you'll see that you've got four results listing credit granted as "pending". Two have only two results returned and for one you're the only one in. Validation requires three, so you're waiting for others to complete and return the data. The last one has three results returned, but looking into it, the Validate State is No Consensus Yet, which means there's not a close enough agreement among the three returns, so the validator is waiting for the fourth one to come back, when it'll compare again. If they all come in on the same day, you may see a spike in your RAC, which'll drop back down later. And if you get a run of results where there's a delay in getting the quorum for validation, you'll see it fall. All normal, not to worry. MJ |

Also, since SETI runs in the background it may have slowed down lately if you've been running other intensive programs that use your computer cycles. Online games, DVD's, etc. Founder of BOINC team Objectivists. Oh the humanity! Rational people crunching data! I did NOT authorize this belly writing!
