I get a litte confused, trying to get my head around this: Just make sure your truxoft_prefs.xml looks like this: <truXoft_conf> <calibrate_credit>SETI@Home</calibrate_credit> </truXoft_conf>

I get a litte confused, trying to get my head around this: No you don't want to run an optimized BOINC client because it will increase your claimed credit for the other projects and may not be fair to the others. I think you can run the Trux optimized calibrating BOINC core client (Here). It is able to report fair credits for SETI and the other projects that you run. I have never tried it for other projects though. You may want to take a look at the other project message boards and see what people there think. |

I get a litte confused, trying to get my head around this: I run Crunch3r's seti app, rosetta and einstein. Should I use an optimized client? Sondre It's intolerant not to tolerate the intolerant

Anyway, benchmark results seems to be quite strange. :) Just edit truxoft_prefs.xml and call it a day. |

You should not be running Trux's BOINC Manager if you are running other Projects, unless you change its configuration file not to adjust the credits for those projects.Sorry, but that's a very incorrect and even dangerous statement! You apparently misunderstood the purpose of the calibration. You should not run any optimized BOINC core client if you run other projects. In contrary, if you run some optimized applications (currently afaik only S@H has optimized app), or if you use modern CPU whose real-life processing of the project application does not correspond to the benchmarks (as it is the case with most of current computers), then in contrary, you definitevely should run the calibrating core client, becaus unlike optimized core clients and even unlike the official core client, it attempts to adjust the claimed credit for every WU so that it's value is completely independend on the harware - that was the orginal purpose of the benchmarks, but unfortunately without the calibration it never really worked. Besides it, at the calibrating client, you have the option, turning the calibrating on/off at every project separately, so if you think it does not claim credit correctly at certain project, you can let it in the standard mode that is in its functionality dentical to the official client. And since there is only one version compiled for all CPU's, with no CPU-specific compiler optimization, the standard benchmarks are not artificailly bloated as at some other clients. trux BOINC software Freediving Team Czech Republic |

Anyway, benchmark results seems to be quite strange. :) Trux BOINC Client is altering the benchmark results seen on the server to force the adjustment of the claimed credits. With the Crunch3r applications your "bench marks" will show very high. To check your systems real bench mark number, in BOINC click "Commands" and "Run Benchmarks" and then watch the Messages display. When the benchmark test is done, it displays the actual benchmark results. You should not be running Trux's BOINC Manager if you are running other Projects, unless you change its configuration file not to adjust the credits for those projects. |

allanur Make sure that you put the new SETI optimized application in your "setiathome.berkeley.edu" file. It's in the "projects" folder. |

Thanks a lot, i tried optimized client and i`ll look what it would make. Anyway, benchmark results seems to be quite strange. :) Thx again. |

Addanur Welcome to Seti BOINC First you machine is working okay with the Standard BOINC Application. The 1400 that you pointed out is using Crunch3r's Optimized Application. IT appears that you ahve installed trux's BOINC core Client without an optimized Application You want to stop in over here and find the Optimized Application that works with your CPU type. Crunch3r's Main Page For You Windows Machine go and select the correct Windows Optimized Application R/ Al Hi all! Please consider a Donation to the Seti Project. |

Your recent credit seems okay if you're using the default boinc app. Have you tried an optomized client such as Crunch3r's? Maybe that Pentium-M isn't on 24/7? |

Hi all! Firstly, sorry for my poor english, i hope you will understand me. I have some problems with perfomance. Its running too slow, but i think it`s quite good to give more results. My computer Here, in BOINC it gives only: Measured floating point speed 1237.05 million ops/sec Measured integer speed 2981.59 million ops/sec I have tested my cpu perfomance in SANDRA, and these results i saw: SiSoftware Sandra: Dhrystone ALU : 8055 MIPS Whetstone iSSE3 : 5880 MFLOPS Integer x8 iSSE2 : 19586 it/s Float x4 iSSE2 : 25862 it/s ( Tested with 42 processes running, and with commit charge 337M / 1249M. ) - I was shocked, when i saw something like that --> Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1400MHz What can you say to me? Best wishes, Alexei K. PS: Maybe i`m dumb? :) |
