Message 306892 - Posted: 16 May 2006, 1:31:20 UTC - in response to Message 295610.

snip
BBC Climat Change project from the list due to the fact I haven't been able to find a user stats page.

Try this link. http://bbc.cpdn.org/show_user.php?userid=15460 (add your user id at the end)

Thanks for all the Hard work Tekwyrd!, It is appreciated!
i assume http://bbc.cpdn.org/show_user.php?format=xml&userid= will be used instead?

Message 306894 - Posted: 16 May 2006, 1:34:11 UTC - in response to Message 300664.

I have a suggestion tekwyzrd. When the boinc totals are displayed and you click on it, it shows the xml document tree. Could you set it up so that it shows the actual page instead? It is the same url as the document tree but with '&html=1' at the end. Is it possible for the '&html=1' to be added when clicking through to the site? Don't think I need to tell you that is without the quotes ;)
what about just dropping the format=xml query string, incase things change in future to prevent html=1 from working

if html=1 is needed, if it's easier, you could try replacing the format=xml with format=html

this is turning out to be a great extension, many thanks for your hours of hard work tekwyzrd :)

do the files hosted on addons.mozilla.org support automatic updates?

i also have a request/suggestion: would it be possible to customise which stats service is used for the combined credit, i personally prefer to use BOINCstats, BOINCstats also supports the use of CPIDs for requesting a users' data

Yes, addons.mozilla.org supports automatic updates. It's the official extension site. I'll add the choice of user stats site to the list for the next version.

Current list:

Launch project site from icon.
Team stats.
Choice of user stats site.

Other suggestions are welcome.

I thought about making BOINCstats the default due to the fact they have team stats but I don't want to overburden their servers. They're already providing stats for sigs and the addition of the stats for the extension may prove to be too much.

i was just wondering, because some extensions i've used haven't always auto-updated, from what i gather there has to be an update URL in the xpi file

ah, that's a good point, especially as the web server is having CPU hardware issues recently

bit of an after thought about using BOINCstats, you'd have to ask willy about how to retrieve an XML version of data, that's something i'm not sure about, and not that i think about it, it's sensible to use the current site due to the fact that XML stats are easilly available

to clarify what i actully ment in my original suggestion (i was half asleep), would it be possible to change the web site that's loaded when viewing the combined credit stats, but the site it gets the XML data from doesn't really matter

ie it could carry on getting the combined XML data from the current site (i forget the URL), but what i'd like is to have the option of my combined credit page on BOINCstats open when i click the combined credit value in the status bar

I'm running Deerpark version 1.6a1 - and it won't install. Only runs on Deerpark (Firefox) up to versions 1.0 - 1.5.0.

Any plans on updating this extension to work with the version I'm running?

I'll compile Deerpark and Bonecho for testing this evening and if everything works out I'll post v0.2.3 tomorrow. Making a new version available will also test the auto update function.

BOINC Stats v0.2.3 is available on the mozdev server and awaiting approval from the Mozilla Add-ons site. No major changes in functionality but I have tested it with Firefox v2.0a2 (Bonecho) and v3.0a1 (Minefield) and increased the max version to 3.0 . If you are running a version of Firefox that refuses to allow installation please let me know.

@ tekwyzrd

Well, looks like you have a newer version, again. Anyway, I have been doing some re-construction on my site. Check out the Firefox extensions link from the "Downloads & Such Menu" link. Let me know if it meets with your approval. The extension link goes direct to your Mozdev page.... (-:<

Running Firefox 1.5.0.3 with XP-SP1 +fixes and BOINC Stats 0.2.2.1 (re-installed from FF-Extensions, way back when ... )

Still no sign of an update being found by FF.

Is it me or Mozilla?

I've been watching for the version change since v0.2.3 was uploaded to the Firefox add-ons site May 18th but for some reason it's still awaiting approval. BOINC Stats v0.2.3 is available on the installation page at mozdev.

Thanks, Siran. Much appreciated. :D

I have a feeling I'm going to have to implement the mozdev url as the one used for detecting new versions. The approval process is taking too long at Firefox add-ons. I'll work on it after I take care of the motherboard and SuSE 10.1 installs I have planned for tomorrow. If all goes well I'll have a new version available sometime next week.

Then I have to get back to work on my Google Pages site.

Thanks for that .... it ain't me (for once) ;-)

I'll hold back on getting it direct and let you know if the change works (and when) - sometime next week... maybe?
