Message 256922 - Posted: 3 Mar 2006, 20:16:11 UTC - in response to Message 256896.

First, I'm not a Republican, though I am somewhat conservative.
Me neither. I'm a monarchist and a social libertarian.
The latter is a north european invention, which I haven't seen much of elsewhere.

I'm a fiscal conservative and a social liberal, figure that if you can.
Most people I guess call that a Libertarian, beats me.
Anyway this mostly puts me at odds with most any administration.

I have to agree with that and we scare them to death, since they can't mobilize us to fight their crazy crusades.
I just wish there were enough of us with good sense to put an end to the partisan crap.

but it still didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that resources should have been mobilized earlier.

Who appointed both Mr. Brown and Chertoff?

A social libertarian?
It's kind of difficult to explain, but it has ideology from libertarians, with a strong social consciousness.
For instance, social libertarians beleives in private and economic freedom, but wants to protect the weak and disabled from bad side effects.
Typical practical political policy involves a strong economy, military, police and law inforcement, but also better schools,
care for the elderly, better functioning infrastructure and care for the environment.

Social libertarians are not conservatives, since they want massive reforms in the society.
They're also not liberals (in the american/english meaning).
Their voters are typically from the middle "class", with a majority of men.
In Norway it's the second largest party, after the Labor party, with about 25%.

That, I agree, is the President's fault: the slow response ot the federal government based on what seems like faulty advice from Brownee and others on the scene. Other that being in the chain-of-command, I don't know if Chertoff is deserves all that much blame; his job is much broader than disaster relief..

It's impossible to have a reasonable discussion with you. Why do you persist in making your ill-informed, irrational comments?

Why hasn't President Bush said anything about freedom and democracy in Iraq lately and what our brave men and women are dying for...? Just curious.

I guess mine was within the ballpark. Social moderate (55%) and Economic conservative (78%), described as a Capitalist.

The problem I have is that on the Famous People illustration, apparently I am The Donald's hairpiece.
No animals were harmed in the making of the above post... much.

So, your argument is: you don't like the president, so that justifies your acting like a fool? You asked me once why I treated you so badly, not once acknowledging how badly you yourself act. So you can dish it out, but you can't take it. Sorry if you just don't get it.
