Having visited the Test-No Reply post, I get the idea of having a post to test things out.

But how do you get avatars on this forum?

Also, why is there no search option?
It would save multiple answers to the same question.... if I could have put "avatars" into a search argument and maybe got the answer that way.

clink on the link for message boards (in blue) just up to your left to take you to the top'ish level of the boards and you'll see the search box.

Yes, I know there's a search box there - but why not have one on each of the separate message boards?

That's coming. Janus said someplace it'll be in a February update of the forum software.

Ah, found it:
In the upcomming (February) forum upgrade there's an entirely new search feature which works much better than the current google one. Furthermore it is present at all helpdesk pages as suggested here.

OK, why does the board software mess my avatar up? I resized it and everything.
got a real cool one but it gets resized weird. it' looks like it didn't center but took the top portion and used that. even did the f5 thing after update.

What does the original look like then? How can we compare?

It'll be squashed against your name anyway. Unless you have a title inbetween, as I have. And always be on the left most. The avatar is static sized at 100x100 pixels, which is smaller than most people's (nick)names. So there is a small space between the avatar and the text in the thread.

Uhm, yes, that's why it's advised to use a 100x100 pixel avatar. ;)

F5 won't change it on your forum changes. CTRL+F5 or Shift+F5, depending on which browser you use, will. :)
