TOLERANCE for ALL religious VIEWS and OPINIONS... ;) Jeffrey, I'm not sure where you find this whole tolerance stuff in the old testament, I seem to remember lots of wars, vengeance and smiting going on...hence the need, so I was taught, for the New Testament. That's beside the point anyway, because I don't have religion and I try to practice tolerance because I know it is right, not because someone has told me I'll burn in hell for all eternity if I don't! (Does anyone else see the contradiction there?) I agree we need to show more understanding of other peoples culture and religion. From what I saw in the Zionist thread there was a lot of misconceptions on both sides. Like you, I got upset by the lack of rational debate and the name calling. I would have like to have heard what Mohsen had to say, even if I didn't agree with it. The impression that I got from that thread was that Muslims were not welcome on this board, even though I'm sure that is not the case. I have many Muslim friends and not one them is a burka wearing, woman hating, bomb exploding terrorist..and none of them have attempted to stone me to death, cut of anyone's limbs or set fire to any buildings. I also have lots of American friends and I don't think any of them are imperialist capitalist pigs who blow up abortion clinics, eat nothing but McDonalds, spend all day doing Crack and shooting each other while driving around in large gas guzzling vehicles shouting "Jesus loves me" loudly at anybody who is not American. But, Jeffrey, please stop just quoting the bible at us. Most people who grew up in the west are pretty familiar with that book. If you want to debate about religion and convince us that we are wrong, just spouting someone else's words is not going to convince us that your way has anything to offer. ..and, because I don't agree with ANY fundamentalist religion that uses doctrine to oppress people, you might want to read what the women of Afghanistan have to say about it themselves. Funny, because other groups of immigrants don't complain very much, the Jews from Russia, the refugees from East Europe, from Hungary, from Czechoslovakia, the Kurds from Iraq and Iran, the Somalians, the refugees from Chile, from Vietnam, from ... All these groups of people with different ethnic backgrounds and religions have assimilated fine into the Danish society, and most of the Muslim people from the Arab countries have also. But there are a group, who continue with their complaints of how unfair they are treated. It's mostly people from the most radical wing of Islam supported by some of the Imams, the very same Imams, who "toured" the Arabic world with the drawings plus some, they made up themselves, among other the one of the French guy in the pig festival!
