You sign up for a project and you will receive email with a URL and a code to enter in the Boinc manager. there are options to set for how much time you want project to run. read faq's. ID: 230498 ·

However, it is designed to run all the time in the background. You can set your preferences on the "your account" page. It will run your processor at 100% when you are not using the computer.
