I think all the effort is most commendable! Way to go everybody!

Being the 'night owl' op most of the time, I've had the opportunity to view many late night infomercials, many dealing with the collection of donations for various causes. Playing on human emotions often seems to be at the forefront of these ads. As such, I present to you, "something we hope we never see." Come on, folks, do you really want this group out roaming the streets?
Your donations will help avoid that. Give now.

Scarecrow

I am sure that you typed this without enough beer and your intent was to say something profound like; "over the years we have met many people Here and became Friends." Without the Donations someone will just pull the plug and there will no longer be a Seti Forum to Visit... To Chat and/or help with problems...

D@mm, I can't believe I just typed that without a Beer... Sorry I appolozize headed for the Fridge now....

Precisely, Pappa.... just be thankful that in my weakened state I didn't try to incorporate Sally Struthers into it somehow. Cheers!

It's a sign to post a donation request in the Cafe's "Crap" thread.

Is anyone from Seti going to broadcast another email to all the Seti crunchers, showing the current results of the March fund raisers and kindly ask for more donations?

I think this would help the cause. People like to feel needed and kept in the loop.

500,000 user x $25.00 each = $12,500,000.00 x 10 % donation rate = $1,250,000.00

just a thought

Thank You for the Concern

To send it now would be waste, as I do not think that have gotten through the whole list of users... However a follow on progress and the need still exists is proper... If I am to belive BOINC Stats there are only 179,000+ users that are still active...

So what each user contributes and if they can reach 10% of the users matters... If you can not afford it this month then next month is fine... If you can only afford the $10.00 donatation every little bit helps... Please remember that it is needed!

Did any t-shirts ever get created?

davidmcw maybe has hit on a good old idea. I would be willing to pay $40 to $50 for a good quality T-shirt with some sort of SETI material printed on it. Especially if the profit went directly to Boinc/Seti! Anyone Else??

Well if you knew what this one guy Misfit knows... but instead of spoiling it for everyone he might instead email someone a friendly nudge.

I replied to that and bumped the post that I did 192 days ago... So if there is interest and a New Seti Tee Shirt can be had... Then it should be explored...

I could but if I risk "upfront cash" and most do not understand... Then Bigger becomes meaningless...

You are welcome to contact me at al.setiboinc (at) gmail.com WE can discuss how to formulate "bigger"

Bigger is better... now that I've got the ok...

In the near future there will be a new SETI store on Yahoo Shopping with a new line of SETI@home merchandise. It's probably still a month away and they are still working on the products.

The new logo is very simple, nice for sewing:

RE-POST!

"THINK. (Just an opinion “ Opinions are like as*****s everybody has one and most of them stink”) |8-0
The people who developed this project (APPLAUSE) and those of us who participate(scattered applause)have had a unique experience.
If nothing else, we who post in these boards have shown the world a few things.
We come from all walks of life. We have demonstrated that (AS THE PROJECT WAS INTENDED) grid computing is effective as an alterative to even 1 “supercomputer”.
For the most part we have proved / shown that we can as a global community can have and desire peaceful interaction.
In these boards we have made real friends / enemies either by accident or design. And still we “work” together.
AMAZING.
I hope this can be an infective force in our 24/7world."

Lets all get together and save SAH/BOINC and the CAFE'!

I Desire Peace and Justice, Jim Scott (Mod-Ret.)
