I have 2 other systems with 2003 SVR myself, all updated of course! I just got Mac OSx86 to try out too! :) I just noticed, with the hyperthreading, it is running at 100% efficiancy for each virtual processor at the same speed this system used to run one seti process. Or is this due to the new BOINC install? I have yet to install the BOINC on all my P4s and maybe because its on the Athlons (non hyperthreading) I just didn't notice... Too many computers... ;)

This I would like to see feedback on as well.

I use Windows Server 2003 SP #2 fully updated/hotfixed, but am interested in what I read on Vista!

(Especially since it is built on the security & stability already inherent in Windows Server 2003 which is C-2 security rated & 99.999% uptime rated (yes, on certified hardware using WHQL drivers for that hardware, but IBM has been doing that for years circa OS/400 - System390 - zOS too - most OEM software houses that produce OS & tout stability have THAT type of constraint as a disclaimer, but I don't blame 'em... I would too!))

Vista also has the new INDIGO communications subsystem!

(So, instead having to know how to use DDE, OLE, DCOM, COM, mail slots, IP calls, named pipes, shared memory (in memory or files on disk) RPC communications call types as well, & more in THAT capacity which is A LOAD of diff. ways to communicate for apps & a load to know how to do? You have a unified messaging subsystem!)

PLUS the new graphical subsystem which IS pretty (up there with MacOS X imo!).

* Thanks for feedback from anyone using that beta... because, I always say "I won't need anything more than what I use now for Windows NT-based OS" & have been saying that since Windows 2000 (yet, I upgraded to XP, & Server 2003 when they came out & loved each of them).

FYI there are currently 75 active Windows Longhorn hosts on seti. I'm assuming when it is released, the name reported by BOINC will change to "Vista".

Program loaded up fine, unlike so many others (antivirus, antispyware,etc.) and got to work right away. Minor issue, black screen when you Show Graphics. Intel 915GAV, ATI X600 with latest ATI Vista driver. Ahhh... the growing pains!
