Ok, but that isn't a real solution as Boinc.exe will now be running from a command line window. I suspect it's a time out problem, where Boinc Manager starts before Boinc.exe has done so. So the best work around for now is to take the link to Boinc Manager out of your Windows Startup folder, then putting a shortcut to Boinc Manager on your desktop. Then start it manually after Windows has booted. Or if you have administrator rights, install BOINC as a service. This way it will run even before you log in. (And thus keep running when you log out or lock the desktop) |

Only on your Windows computer or also on the Mac? I believe it's only on Windows, but can't confirm as the Mac is at home and I, alas, am at work. BOINC version is 5.2.13. Installed using download from SETI site. After reading your response, I manually launched boinc.exe and that seemed to kick start things. Boinc Manager now shows as connected. Thanks for your help. |

Only on your Windows computer or also on the Mac? Which BOINC version? How did you install? Have you tried to take Boinc Manager out of the Startup folder in Windows and start it manually? Have you checked if Boinc.exe is running (Task manager, processes tab)? |

Just got this message after running flawlessly for more than a week. Tried connecting to host using my computer name, but no joy. Any suggestions? |
