Have you checked your paging space:
<ctrl><alt><delete> -> Task Manager -> Performance tab
What does it say on the bottom right (Commit Charge)? Is that increasing over time?

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be my firewall. Remember, the
new BOINC uses "localhost" connections to talk to the
various parts. That caused my firewall to show a memory leak.

I showed it other times but Boinc brought it out quickly...:-)

Check for heat, especially on a dual CPU system. Clean out the dust and make sure that everything gets sufficient cooling. When running work units under BOINC, all available CPU cycles will be used, so your CPU(s) will heat up pretty much.

Also check in Event Viewer if the logs give any clue as to why this may be happening.

First question are you using screen saver and is your vid card ATI? If so get the latest drivers and if that does not help stop using the screen saver...

Have you checked for a heating problem, fans working heat sink clean.

Since using the new BOINC manager my system has frozen on SETI several times. The system does not crash, it just locks up and forces a cold boot.

I NEVER had any problems running the old version of the SETI software. Could you help me de-bug? If it continues to lock up my system I will have to uninstall the software.

I am running W2K on a dual Pentium machine. The BOINC software version is 5.2.13
