That will be a large database ...
and you wouldn't be able to get away with anything free like mySQL (which is only fast with small tables), you'd need something more scalable, and durable like oracle, which will cost ;)
Hmmmmm, may I disagree.

The SETI DB uses MySQL, that a pretty big DB, and I know at least one stats site that also uses MySQL with over 10 million records, and huge tables.
well, it's not impossible to use mySQL with large tables, but after reading something by carl over at CPDN, mySQL seems to be really qucik with small tables, and slower with large ones (but still works, all be it slowly)
but something like oracle, although it's slower than mySQL with small tables, has a pretty constant speed regardless of table size.
i'll try to find the thread that he made those comments in

but i'll admit i know very little about DBs, and have no experience with them, i'm just stating what other experienced people have said

With at least two project now seeing database issues on a regular basis. I would not hold out hope for a major new data dump capability being added. Especially when the utility of that data is questionable ...

I mean, will that portal do what most would be asking? I mean, store all my results from all my project from now until doomsday? That will be a large database ...

BOINC does not store a list of all results for a user. The ones displayed are just those that have not been purged yet. The results are created, crunched, validated, assimilated, and then there is a delay before they are purged.

Better would be to get the stats files from http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/stats.

John M, do you know if this will be a future feature, like it was with classic?
or is it never going to happen?

the regular stats are only so useful for John L because he's wanting to create a "portal" site for users, thus info about results etc. would be most helpful

you might want to contact Dr. David Anderson about this, as it would be in SETI's interest to serve XML pages

Can anyone supply me with the format for calling the xml feed for the Results for User page from BOINC.

I tried: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=x&format=xml

. . . but I simply got the normal page frame with the results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
