My cache still isn't quite full yet. Just after 3AM (12 midnight Berkeley time) I turned on this computer and I saw the 16 results slowly disappear (except for one) from the BoincManager work status page. A few minutes later I finally saw a unit being crunched (starting at 3:17 AM). But I had to wait 'til 10:30 AM to see other units start to fill my cache. Three did, and all were bandmates. I can't understand that, if one unit got into my cache, why didn't three others (my cache holds about four) get in, too. Did Berkeley turn off the supply of units at 3:17:30 AM (EST)? Between 3:17 and 10:30 my software tried to fetch units many times, often every ten minutes. I had my machine off twice, for 50-minute periods each, so I could do errands, during that time. Maybe those three bandmates were downloaded one-after-another when I turned on the machine at 10:30. Maybe that's why they're bandmates (have identical numbers except for the 0 to 255 number at the end). |

Not totally. If you look at the Server Status page, many servers are still disabled. Validating and Assimilation are all down for now. Uploads yes, but downloads still don't work for me. I get "No work from project" messages on most of my computers

Not totally. If you look at the Server Status page, many servers are still disabled. Validating and Assimilation are all down for now. Uploads, downloads and reporting are pretty close to normal. Some glitches still, but as less and less people pound the servers it is clearing. Best thing to do is watch the Home and Technical News pages, take a look at the Server Status pages to get a good idea of where things are.

Finished upload of completed work units a couple of days ago. First new download took several tries earlier today, then was successful. However, that work unit AbEnded and was returned early. Now working on a new unit with another standing by as usual. Blessed St. Leibowitz, keep 'em dreamin' down there. |
